Absolutely the WORST prof I have ever had! Ignorant, rude, and thinks he's better than everyone. Once told me to change my major in front of the entire class for asking him a question. I don't know how they haven't fired him yet. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. If you're a micro major, be prepared to have no idea what he's talking about.

Worst Prof ever!! I had him in 216 and again in 391 and he is more confusing than ever! He jumps around in his notes and talks about random things. He is more interested in talking about all the important people that he has met and the research that he does. He doesn't care about the students. Do not take a class from him if you do not have to!!

Prof Hayes was okay. He wasn't organised and when he was asked questions, he wasn't very welcoming. He's not as horrible as some people say but definitely not a good prof. Exam was tough, but you just have to understand your material. Use the textbook to understand what he's talking about and try to answer your own questions.

A wonderful, entertaining prof! I gained great respect for Dr. Hayes by the end of the course. If he were still teaching MCIM 387 I would be signed up in a heartbeat. He has had a very interesting life, and I appreciate all of his tangents he went on when we gained some insight into a genius' life. Love him!!

the worst prof i have EVER had. in the micro office he has a folder of complaints that is over 2 feet thick, yet still the department won't do anything about him because he has tenure. At least they pulled Micro 387 from him so we don't have to put up with him twice!

I don't even know where to begin. He couldn't stay on topic so you never knew if you were supposed to understand what he was talking about.. His notes were the worst I've ever seen, messy, disorganized.. He was completely incomprehensible and his exams were HELL. I've never studied so hard for anything in my life. Just try to follow the textbook.

He made the class the worst. Would not post ppt and when he did finally at students request told us to ignore and just read on text book. Final was impossible took obscure questions. Only thing that saved me were the T/F bc at least they were logical. Hard to understand in class and when asking a question wouldn't really answer & go off on tangent.

The only thing worst then his classes are his exams. The questions were on random details and he said not to memerize pointless details, I didn't even recongize half the terms on the exam. Don't take a class from him unless you need it to get your degree.

What a confusing class; his ppt notes were very disorganized (although I'm thankful he posted them), and he often contradicted himself. Asking questions is a futile undertaking as he doesn't understand what you're asking him. I reccommend buying the textbook and reading it, instead, when you get stuck.
