Great teacher, knows what she is talking about, boring lectures, tries to be funny and make it a little more tolerable, has trouble expressing herself, however the class is fairly simple, give her what she wants and its an easy A.

Great instructor, she is very kind, very approachable and very helpful. The classes are not the most interesting of classes, which isn't her fault given that the material is dryer than hell on a hot day. I would absolutely consider taking Prof. Aprahamian again, she is by far one of the best instructors i've had.

She is the sweetest, most knowledgeable professor I have ever had. The woman is a genius, you can ask her about anything and she can talk about it forever with you. She takes the time to email students, update her moodle etc and is always happy to talk during office hours. Go to class, talk to her, and you will do well! She is really fair.

This class was truly amazing. Prof. Aprahamian's feminist critical lens on N. American Anth. Theory was an eye opener. Her use of Catherine Lutz's does theory have a gender in the introductory class set the tone. We were exposed to the excluded voices from the canon of anthropology.

I learned a lot in her office hour. Anyone who complain about her lectures, just take advantage from her office hour. She's down to earth.I didn't have any stress in her class and talking to her in person,so that I don't feel shy to express my opinions.I took 2 classed of hers, and I'm gonna take more. Just like her.

Avoid at all costs. The more you attend class, the more perplexed you will become. No direction, no clarity, yet she gets frustrated with the class for not understanding. Should not be lecturing... just painful.

Very passionate about her subject, but she can't teach. None of us have a clue whats going on, her outlines make no sense and her moodle sites even less. Once I got handed back an inclass exam because it wasn't "perfectly" structed like an essay because "content-wise it's an A but structure-wise it's an F". What she wants from you changes daily.

I have had 4 class with this teacher and I have to say, she is very knowledgeable but not the best lecturer, she goes of track pretty easily. I would agree with what others have said before, if you are independent and if you don't need a teacher that tells you exactly what is important or not than take her classes. Her exam are crazy easy!!

Sweet women and incredibly knowledgeable, but the woman can't teach to save her life. Do not buy the textbooks because she will use approximately 3.2 articles: Boas' methods of ethnology, Morgan's ethnological periods, Ortner's anthro since the 60's. Guidelines are unbelievably fuzzy -use her paper topics to be safe.

I must say, she is very smart and knows what she is teaching. Maybe, sometimes, she goes off topic but heck, the important is that her exams are VERY easy. She is super nice and a very easy marker. I got an A as a final mark. If you are independent and you know what it means to study then, you shouldn't have any problems with her!

I love her, but she is just a god-awful teacher. Seriously, get out while you still can. The tests are graded super wonkey, with the TA looking for different things then what she does. Seriously, don't take a class from her.

I've had her for 3 classes. If you are intelligent and like independance, she's the teacher for you. She's shy and her first language isn't English (its Armenian) - this accounts for why some ppl have trouble understanding her. However, she has very deep knowledge of the subject - esp women's and ethnic issues. Very accomodating, marks additively.

If you see her outside of class and ask questions, especially about papers, she will take the time to even provide you with good sources. She is however not a very good public speaker and not comfortable in front of a class. Her being uncomfortable make me a little uncomfortable. Fair marker and passion for her subject.
