Great professor, he knows well about the text material. Do the HOMEWORK and you will be fine in the test because his exam questions are very similar to the homework.

I think Professor Li is a different person when you visit his office hour. People like tk jidge judge he isn't good at explaining stuffs but he is quite patient in explaining everything when you ask him questions. He tries to make everyone learn something and pass the course. Moreover, he is also quite knowledgeable if you talk to him frequently.

Though Li's a kind person, he's not a good teacher. You'd think that after teaching for so many years he'd be a pro by now. He tends to mumble in lecture,so you need to keep up with what he writes. Make sure you stay on track for this class cause it's fast paced. Read the text after his lectures to improve understanding. Hope TA's good.

He was actually not that bad! Yes it was extremely difficult to hear him and understand him sometimes but as long as you go to lecture and understand the material, do your homework, and attend office hours you will definitely get a good grade and if you do better on the final than midterms he will replace that final grade to your midterm grade.

Honestly depressed that I spent my federal aid $$ on such a professor. Taking a class with him is just taking a class with yourself. Perhaps that's just the way of college, but you will especially be learning by yourself in this course. He will not teach you anything. His accent is terrible, he regurgitates from the book. Avoid at all costs.

I love calculus, but the linoleum floor of the classroom he taught his lectures in were more interesting than what he was saying. He copies the book word for word, talks quietly, and is incapable of explaining the "why" of the content in the class, he only teaches the "how". Avoid this professor if at all possible.

The Math 205 sequence was very very challenging, however after I finished it I had improved my mathematical ability by a tremendous amount. Reading the reviews already posted here, yes he does speak softly at times but not most of the time. Also, if he says something important he will say it loudly so it's not a problem.

This guy is honestly a terrible teacher. I got an A but I learne everything on my own. His accent isn't the problem. The problem is he whispers to himself as he solves problems on the board that he does not explain. And he just regurgitates the lesson from the textbook. Going to class is pointless. Just read the text book and solve many problems

He speaks quietly and to himself. During class, its like sitting there for hours watching someone else study, and you don't really learn anything. Horrible, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Not a good teacher. He doesn't speak English well and speaks very softly. He goes fast in lecture and you need to read the textbook prior to attending class or you'll be clueless. Avoid if possible

Overall not a great professor can barely speak English and doesnt speak anywhere near as loud as he should be but luckily the classs is fairly easy and the tests are not that hard once the curve comes into play got below an 85 on the final but got curved to an A so hes not that bad as long as you self study you dont really need to go to lecture

Midterm was pretty easy but the final exam was difficult. 2 dropped HW & 2 dropped quizzes. I suggest keeping up with readings and learning by youself, because learning from his lectures is pointless. DON'T SLACK OFF FOR THE FINAL. You can barely understand him and his lectures are basically word by word from the textbook, including examples.

I retook this class in the summer. Yes, his accent is strong and he speaks softly so sit up close! His exams were hard and honestly I thought I was going to fail -again!- but ended up with a B. All I can say is, GREAT CURVE. :D He seems to be organized and writes out what he says. He replaces a low midterm score with the higher final exam score.

This prof cannot speak Ehglish. This is not about an accent, most math profs have one, but you could understand them. This one you can not. I got an A but felt my time and money were wasted as nobody could understand a word he was saying. Why do they even keep a guy like him? Don't they notice he can't speak? He is a disgrace.

Can't understand A WORD he says, so reading the book is necessary. The good thing about him is that his exams are exactly like his reviews. Whatever he reviews is going to be on the exam and nothing else. He also assigns lots of book homework due everyweek. He's not too bad though, I got a B+

One of the most helpful and nicest professor I've ever had. Even though his accent makes it hard to understand what he's saying, you can still understand the course material. It's a shame he didn't teach my other 140 classes. UCI should have more professors like him.

You can get an A+ with little effort of just trying to do all the homework. Coz for him, the homework=tests. No kidding. He is the nicest teacher ever. He would do anything to make sure you get an A. He makes feel like I am in high school again.

Worst asian math professor ever. first two midterms were fairly easy (just study equations). The "take-home" final is extremely hard. don't expect to pass the final by just referring to the examples he gives you in lectures. I have no idea what he's saying during lecture. he just mumbles all the time. his voice can be annoying.
