A prof that really cares. She is a hard marker, but I'm glad I had her as a prof. She really cares about accurate spelling, so English better be your first language. If there were more profs out there like her, university would be a better experience. Even though it's a VA Hist class, some of the prof's feminism comes across in the content. Mark=85

I get 80s and 90s in everything except this course where she gave me the lowest mark I've ever gotten on an exam. She marks you wrong on the exam not because you gave the wrong answer, but because you didn't word it the exact way she wanted you to. I've never understood a subject matter so much yet been marked so hard. Definitely do not recommend.

Sonia is a very sweet, very intelligent woman. Her lectures were incredibly interesting and accessible. My only complaint was that in a 100-level non-essay course there was an essay which she marked brutally hard!! I recommend this course as an elective but go talk to her with a draft of your paper before handing it in!!

I loved Sonia. She is such a sweet heart. If you go to class and study the way she tells you, it is not possible to do badly in her classes. She breaks everything down to the basics and held my attention throughout the 2.5 hour lectures.
