I am not a Spanish speaker and this intro class was hard. All homework is done through an online program that has zero tolerance, Even a small spelling error will mark you wrong for the entire question. Teacher is quick to respond to issues, and will give you 1/2 credit if she can tell you are really trying. This is a teach your self class for sure

Sonia is a wonderful teacher... if you go to her troubled you will for sure get the answer by the end. She puts in the time and effort to help you out and makes sure that you understand the content. She's not in it to give you a bad grade and genially cares about your well being and your studies. Definitely would take all her classes.

BEST SPANISH PROF EVER!!! Seriously, not only is Sonia kind, smart, and caring, she is the first teacher to get me excited about actually learning the language. She explains the material very well and doesn't bore the class with continual textbook activities. We talked a lot in class, and that helped me learn better. She is very flexible and is very wise. Best teacher I have ever had in entire life.

Sonia is so nice and helpful. For the online class you still have to do assignments out of the book but she gives you the option of emailing it to her instead of handing her a physical copy. If you have any questions she is quick to reply and as long as you keep pace with the online assignments you should get a good grade!

I loved this class. Sonia is super sweet. For me this class was not difficult because I am a native speaker but it definitely improved my grammar and writing which was kind of my goal. We had a lot of discussions and built a small family in the classroom. Take her class!

I truly enjoyed every minute of class with her. The class was an easy A for me because I'm a native Spanish speaker, however I did improve my grammar and vocabulary, and she was so sweet and extremely approachable! She makes it a point to get to know her students on a personal level, and class discussions are always fun.

I took her Spanish beginning 101 course 2 years ago. I did not know much Spanish, I was the only one in my class learning for the first time, reading writing everything. It was difficult to learn all. If you try and do your homework you will pass this class. She is a great teacher but depending on how your class is sets the pace.

I had 4 classes with Sonia. One of my favorite teachers ever. Have been speaking (and translating!) Spanish for over 40 years and I finally have learned the correct usage of the subjunctive. Also learned a lot of other important life lessons. Thank you, Sonia!
