If you have the option to switch teachers please do so. Hes the worse teacher i've had my entire life. He keeps switching the course outline and ONLY SAYS IT IN CLASS, so if you miss that one class where he changed it... you're screwed. Some of his projects make no sense and his exams are very hard. He takes attendance, just like elementary. AVOID.

Soukwan has the highest expectations I have ever seen in a prof. If youre not willing to pretend that his course is your only course, youll max out at a B-. Instead of being a student, he expects you to be a high functioning production manager, not a student. If you want to be penalized for not remembering tiny details from field trip, take this!

He is amazing! Best teacher I've had at Concordia! You need to be in class, otherwise you will be lost (his slides often consist of one word or one photo and he will just give all the info via his lecturing) BUT if you show up consistently you will love it... he knows his stuff inside out and lectures fluently and organically with many relevant exa

He is a terrible professor. He has openly insulted other students' opinions and thinks he's so funny criticizing everything. Someone in the class failed because they didn't correctly name the attachment. His class drove me to switch my major, which was the best decision to make.

Almost identical to his URBS 230 class. Pay attention and get an A. He uses a textbook but you can skim through it as whatever was important in the book is mentioned by him in class so just listen up and you'll good. Write most if not all of what he says, random facts will appear on tests. He makes the course really fun and though provoking.

The course is lecture heavy in the sense that what he says in class will specifically be on the tests. If you pay attention in class, you'll do great because he mentions random things and puts them on the tests so you can't really skip. His URBS 240 class is practically identical. Straightforward teacher, one of my favorites.

It's a win-lose situation. The textbook he assigns is a MASSIVE monster of a textbook that you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO READ and there's no way in hell you will pass without reading the entire thing (over 800 pages). But, he allows you to bring any and all notes you desire. So, you can definitely do well, but you'll have to work like a slave for it!

you HAVE to go to every single lecture and write down every single thing he says even if it seems completely irrelevant. If you missed the lecture you will end up reading tonnes of irrelevant information. Class was two multiple choice exams worth majority of grade, pop up quizzes as well. Very interesting class but can be chaotic.

Soukwan is someone that will give you respect if you respect him. Showing you are interested in the subject will be helpful. Lectures are quite long but not necessary to succeed his 240. Exams are mainly (exclusively) on his lectures. Very flexible teacher. Found his class very intellectually stimulating BUT... Does not respond to emails...

I had Soukwan for URBS 240 and URBS 300, and he's terrible for both classes. Guidelines for papers, and other assignments are rather unclear, so it is highly recommended that you either drop by his office or see a TA for help. He is also a hard marker, so my suggestion to passing the class is to show up, or else you lose 5% per missed class.

Elective. His lectures are captivating, fluid and you learn a lot by just attending. The midterm was Multiple choice. I didn't do well on the essay but I think he's fair. He is full of himself and can seem rude in class but he's a kind person once you know him. Lectures seem all over the place but come together in the end. Some pop quizzes.

He makes you work for it, but hey that's his job. He can come off a bit hard at times but if you need help and you speak to him, you might need to see him more than once but its totally worth it, he will be there for you. One of the main reasons i like his class is if you carefully look at the outline, these assignments have high potential to A's
