Very difficult to follow but always willing to help. Very few tests but lots of partial credit and AWESOME CURVES. Also chances for extra credit.

Would not recommend this professor. Lectures were confusing and I left knowing less than when I came. I would just listen in lecture and then take my notes from the book after class because the lectures were all over the place and difficult to follow. We were supposed to take 3 exams and only took 2 so now the final is worth 50% of our grade.

I took the material before in high school so it was a breeze, if you are new to the material pay attention and read the chapters and you will do fine.

He teaches so slowly. You cannot learn what you want. The tests are so easy and he cannot explain everything clearly. If you are Math major, do not try him. But if you are not math major, you can try him, because you don't have to learn everything on book.

Comment:
Dr. Harris teaches very conceptually, so it is hard to follow some of his lessons in class. The book explains some of these concepts, but it is difficult to do the homework problems due to the lack of examples used in class.

Comment:
Harris is obviously very passionate about math, but has a hard time relating to students. If students don't understand his way of thinking, he becomes frustrated quickly. Calc III isn't terribly difficult, but students not strong in math should sign up for a different professor.

"To thine own self be true." He certainly does that. Passionate about his subject and his viewpoint. Don't bother taking notes; they won't make sense anyway. Just watch what he's doing and soak up as much as you can. For a graduate course, find supplementary texts as early as possible and cram them into you brain early before the class ramps up.

Smart guy. Everything he said in class will be exactly what they are in the quizes and exams. Easy A if you had the material before. If didnt, pay attention in class.

Comment:
Dr. Harris's class is ridiculous unless you have had the material before. I am getting an A but would probably not be. He gets pretty annoying during class and that can be distracting but I do recommend going to class because those are the problems that you will be tested on. Overall, avoid if you have never had the material before!!!

If you are unable to learn from abstract notes and few examples, avoid this professor. He's unfair, flaunts the fact that his grading is subjective, and his exams are ridiculous. The last exam we had consisted of five questions, the first of which was worth 24 points. His grading scale varies from quiz to quiz. It's never consistent.

Dr. Haris is way too smart for his own good. He struggles communicating his knowledge effectively to his students. He gets frustrated with incorrect answers very quickly and is no better during his office hours. He actually threw a pencil at a wall because he got so annoyed with a student who couldn't get the answer! B careful when choosing him

WORST POSSIBLE TEACHER! He seems to think his calculations is always the simplest. But oh no, it's not! He tries too hard to make it simple, but it backfires. Everything is so hard if you do it his way. He is also an incredibly harsh grader! Attendance is of course, required. You can survive only if you have taken it before and you're retaking it.
