He means well but following him is very hard sometimes. Be prepared to spend a lot of time learning concepts on your own. Tests are hard & homework is a participation grade. The lab is challenging but you will enjoy it. Not sure if I dare take 471 with him of not.

Horrible teacher. Can't understand anything he says. and best quote of him from my class "If you understand boxes then you write program" this was said after he drew several boxes on the chalkboard and then drew lines connecting them. Don't waste your time with this fool.

what do i say. i've watched dubbed Godzilla movies that were easier to understand. i think he maybe a nice guy, but make sure your in the good graces of the other Chinese instructors. if one of the other Chinese instructors has a passing bad comment, go somewhere else. The ECE department has a very strong Chinese mafia......

Although he is not very clear while speaking, he is really helpful. He helps students who want help. The only thing you have to do is go upto him, and say that you have a problem in this particular section of the course.
