He always seemed very terse and I felt like he was not able to explain things very well; not a professor I would want to have.

had an advising meeting with him and he seemed ok at first, kinda out there. but he was very condescending and relatively rude during times. i was not pleased with him as a person/advisor and am not looking forward to seeing him again. he also doesnt really know how to conduct an advising meeting either...

he pretty much hated me and my lab partner, im pretty sure it was because we were girls. hes nice to guys though, so youll do fine if your male. yet overall, it wasnt a bad class. the TA was helpful and i was able to get an A even though i didnt know what i was doing half the time.

Talked to him in person a few times, really a great guy. However it painfully apparent in his labs that he really just didn't care about the lab section. He showed minimal interest, but he still managed to provide us with cool stuff to do. There is a rumor going around that he just walks out of the woods and comes to class everyday. SQUIRREL MASTER

Great professor, if you are interested in the subject you will certainly like him. Sometimes not everything is clear, but physics is not meant to be clear all the time. If you put in a fair amount of effort you will do fine

Stan is a good teacher! In lab he was a very good instructer although some of the labs were demanding. I like how he did not give out much out of class work. If you ever had a question or problem, he was always happy to help, and he's funny too. Nice choice of electrostatic labs. Makes learning fun, and within our zone of proximal developmen

Stanley Hertzbach is the quintessential Physics Professor. He is cooky, wild, and ecentric, yet a genius nonetheless. An incredibly smart man, he was able to project the exceedingly difficult material in a understandeable way. Helped any and all students and was commited and connected to his teachings and pupils

good guy, cept he has monotonous voice that like randomly goes up and down trailing off, and class is sometimes boring but only cuz of course material, not that good at explaining material either. uses slides, owls, scales on grades

Decent guy and even makes class fun sometimes, but he's not good at explaining. He tends to lower his voice at the end of sentences and sort of trail off...

Lectures incredibly boring. He seems to know the material well but doesn't so much teach as read his power point slides. Many trick questions in lecture, but exams were ridiculously easy.

Went through demonstrations and examples clearly, as long as you go to class and do the OWLs, you'll do well on the exams.

flys through material, valuing quantity of material covered rather than indepth converege or ensuring students comprehend..likes to trick students with exam and prs questions, not prepared for lectures, puts up owl assignments hours before they are due.

Horrible teacher. Lectures are ridiculously boring but you have to go because of PRS, which he doesn't give you enough time to answer, and which he tries to trick you. Doesn't seem to have much interest in students but instead in his beloved Powerpoint.

I found it hard to stay awake during his lectures. He seems to know his stuff though and his lecure notes are fairly easy to understand. My biggest problem with this class is probably true of all the general physics sections: The owl hints suck.

Knows his stuff, and makes the lessons hit home with great demonstrations...not too many teachers propel themselves in a radio-flyer wagon using a fire-extinguisher for propulsion!
