Comment:

Its obvious Professor Hinson cares about what she teaches. If youve taken a basic psychology course, a lot of the material will be review. There are take home responses every so often. Lectures are very content heavy. You could probably get away with not having the book since its only used a few times. Pay attention and expect to get an A or B.

Dr. Hinson is very knowledgeable about educational psychology, but she lectures the entire class and it gets boring after a while. She also requires that you buy the textbook for the class, but we never use (a waste of $80 that I could have spent on something else). Tests are easy if you take good notes and look over study guide. Not my fav teacher

Class is very boring. She drones the whole time. She calls on you regardless of whether or not you know the answer. She normally tells you the open-ended questions for the test. Her tests are pretty easy if you review the study guide. She offers plenty of extra credit. I didn't personally use the book too much. Wasn't worth the buy (in my opinion).

Dr. Hinson is one of my favorite professors at WCU. She is very knowledgable about her subject, which makes lectures enjoyable. She gives a very clear study guide and outline of the exam before exam days, and provides a lot of extra credit opportunities.

I have mixed feelings about Hinson. Her lectures and criteria for grading are quite clear, though she can be unhelpful and rude at times. If you understand the material, you should be fine but studying is a must. If Ed Psych doesn't come naturally to you, take all the extra credit you can get - she gives a lot.

Hinson is funny, and the information is relevant. The class can be boring and she always starts with a little "recap". She's very helpful and offers extra credit. It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. She's super nice, but her tests are hard. You have to read the material and really work for it. Definitely a solid class.

Dr. Hinson's class was tough to sit through. She repeated the same phrases at the beginning of every class, and that became very tiresome. She is a nice lady, but I don't see her passion for teaching anymore. Tests are hard, even if you study. Go to the extra credit opportunities, it helps

Dr. Hinson is very picky and is rude at times. It was hard to be motivated in her class because she asked a lot of unnecessary and stupid questions. In terms of grading, it's her way or the highway- creativity/effort never mattered. Her class was not worth my time or money- I'd definitely suggest taking the course with a different teacher.

Professor Hinson knows her stuff. She begins the class the same way everyday and uses the same phrases which get extremely annoying once you catch on. Her voice is extremely loud! Her tests are really difficult if you don't take good notes and read the text book. She always tries to trick you on them. I would try to avoid her if you can.

Awful professor. She was rude anytime I would ask her even the simplest of question. She is ridiculously picky and her voice is unbearably loud. I've never written a comment on here before but she was so bad I felt the need to warn people not to take her class. Avoid her at al costs and if you have her on your schedule now, drop her.

the class wasn't to bad, but she is VERY repeatitive. i barely used the book, but if you wanna do good on the tests you must read it! shes an easy grader for the 3 writing assignments but the tests are nearly impossible to get an A on. i understood the information but never did too well on the tests. try to get a different teacher if you can :/

She was one of the worst teachers I've had in a long time. Her tests are so hard! I'm a good student and studied but I always ended up with a D, as did most in the class. Bottom line-take another education professor. She sounds like a robot and looks like Fat Albert. Save yourself the trouble and misdirection!
