She's a terrible teacher. She doesn't seem to understand English. She doesn't actually teach anything. I submitted a "rough draft" which she had lots of mean comments for, I didn't change anything, turned it in, and got a B+ on it. She likes to inflate grades for no reason (if she likes the kid) to make it feel like she's actually teaching.

She is one of THE best teachers even though she'll make you look like a dumb ass she makes sure you learn. think about it, if you dont want her to get on your ass infront of the whole class you better do your****, and do with good quality.

Westphal seems mean, but she's actually nice! She's probably one of the best english teachers I've had.. I learned a lot from her! Take her class if you want to improve your writing. As long as you do all the work and make an effort, you'll be fine!

It's a hard class, but my writing style and grammar really improved. If you take her class without having had college-level writing before, you will after. She's a great teacher, and she's funny if you understand her sense of humor.

Don't believe the hype. As long as you pay attention in class and show that you are giving 100%, you will be fine. Slackers, stay away. Mrs. Westphal is probably the best English teacher I have ever had, definitely the first English teacher in many years to help me actually improve my writing.

Ms. Westphal is very scary the first couple of days but hang in there she is very nice. She really cares about improving your writing. She is very helpful but sometimes harsh. As long as you try hard you should be fine. I really liked her
