Comment:

Really good RCM 300 Professor, very passionate about what he taught in the class. He owns a local Brewery called "Padlock", I swear he looks like Mr. Lahey from Trailer Park Boys.

Comment:

Took my a while to get used to Dr. Cavan's teaching style but he is my favourite professor. Provides great feedback, very willing to re-explain concepts or help with assignments. He is very approachable and friendly and wants everyone to succeed. Also is a fair marker and gets assignments back on time. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Cavan.

Very engaging prof. He lectures without notes for 60 minutes, and covers every topic with passion (not emotion - they are different). Maybe because he doesn't use notes some people think he is not prepared - but try talking like that for an hour. BTW class # is 226 - must be a great student to get that wrong.

Prof obviously did not read the text book. Emotional on every issue. Did not come to class prepared. Assigned the text half way through the class. Taught plato/aristotle for half the class instead of the authors we were supposed to read. Personal biases prevented him from giving fair criticisms. Students seemed to know more on subject then he did.

Stephen is amazingly knowledgable and very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. I enjoyed his classes so much I considered changing my major to Classics!

Love him! He is great! His jokes are different but still he tries to make things fun. I loved greek class with him. If it wasnt for him i would have failed for sure. He knows when people are trying...welp we only had like 5 ppl in the class which makes things easier. But if u have q's dont be afraid to talk to him or go by his brewery mmm beer

Very interesting class, funny man. Makes the class laugh alot with funny jokes. Beware though, this class isn't as easy as everyone makes it out to be. You can get mid 80s in it pretty easily, BUT there's a ton of stuff to memorize for the tests. However, he's retiring, so the new prof may be different.

Comment:

Super friendly teacher. He presents his material in a way that keeps the class interested. This class is a grade booster if you have a good memory. Lots of names to know so you can't just expect a 90% without studying. If you do put time though, 90's are possible. Good guy with a great sense of humor and is really passionate about classical myths.

AWESOME class!!! definitely recommend it. Its not a breezer course but he keeps you going with interesting bits. prof is awesome at making class fun and interesting as well as relating to modern times jokingly.

The class itself is quite easy if you keep on top and pay attention. Usually a large class as per usual with a 100 level humanity. The way he explains the stories really help them stick in your mind for the tests. Not to mention he owns a brewery.

Comment:

This is what 100 level classes should be. Hard enough to weed out poor students but easy enough to permit a focus on the material rather than the marks. Classes and Profs like these make people want to learn and make that process very enjoyable. There is a reason the Greek stories have lasted as long as they have - great class!

Awesome class!! He is so helpful, and so funny! The tests are fill-in-the-blank and they are so easy! I took this class for a summer class, and I would recommend it. Very easy class, and he is a great prof! Pay attention in class, and you'll get a good mark.

guess that final slaughtered a lot of people. Still a pretty easy class, 90s for sure. I don't know why so many people think it's possible to get 100 in this class. The highest mark was only a 96 or 97.
