If you are looking for a class that you can breeze through, his class is not for you. That being said, Dr. Dowling is a great professor. Not only does he have an engaging teaching style, he honestly cares for his students. He is understanding and willing to work with you, as long as you demonstrate that you are responsible and that you work hard.

Definitely the best teacher I have ever had! He is so nice, understanding, and very helpful. He gets to know every single one of his students. There is a lot of work involved in this class, however it's easy if you listen, and he also explains everything very well too. Definitely take this class if you are considering it! You won't regret it.

Stephen Dowling is the nicest teacher on campus. He reminds of one of the only people in the world that I can say definitely lived his life to the fullest, and he shares it with all his students. He's kind, fun, and inspiring. His tests are pretty good as long as you do the study guides. Really a class worth taking

Mr Dowling is the sweetest old man EVER. He gets to know all his students and i loved the activities he had in store for us. I never thought id feel close to a teacher, but i actually gave him a hug when i left his class for the last time. Mr Dowling is one of the BEST professors on campus!!! If you have a chance to take him, do so! His passion for the subject shows. He is more than willing to help students succeed, so even if you are scared about the subject you can feel confident to talk to him for help. A true GEM at SJSU!!!

Such a nice professor. He really cares for students. Always in a great mood. Test are easy just read the textbook which is simple reading. always starts the day with music and a quote. 1 group project where you create a game for the class, 3 essays, NO HOMEWORK. grades fairly easy. ALWAYS need a cover page. need right format.

Love him and how he articulates his thoughts and the materials. At the first session, I was just as scared of taking the class, as I was excited about taking it with him. You need to pass some GEs, and he'll make you love this experience. No easy A though; you gotta work your butt out a couple of times throughout the semester. He's so good though.

HE's really good. RECL can sound really corny, or boring, but he makes it worth it for you to attend his class.A very dedicated lecturer always on the go, organized, and tries to make the class really interesting. I think he has succeeded in doing so. he only thought one class in FALL06 and that was a great class. you will love him. do your hw!
