He is actually a good professor. He wants the student to ask questions from him. Helpful when you attend the office hour. Does a lot of derivations in the class but noting of that comes in the exams(he just want to make things clear ) the exam only test you the lecture notes knowledge Easier than most the upper level econ

Stephen is understanding, caring and quite funny at times. He helps you out with your research literally any time you need. Sometimes he speaks too fast and he has croaky voice so it's hard to follow but that' ok. If you are relatively good at research, you should definitely take this course with him. you will learn a lot from him.

Horrible. His lectures and the assigned readings were not coordinated with the syllabus, and his final exam asked questions that covered concepts that were not very related to any of the material that he or the TA indicated to us that we needed to know. I read these reviews and decided to take the class anyway... really wish I hadn't.

This class requires you to write an at least 20 pages long research paper. In order to get a high grade even if your English is poor, you have to talk to him after class at least once a week. He is very helpful and will provide many materials and resources for you to make your writing easier. His lecture is pretty confusing tho.

Note: my class only had 9 students. The format of this class was different than any I've ever had before, and that made it difficult to know what was expected. He often used a lot of complicated math (and not always well explained), but you only needed to understand the premises and conclusions of the models. Very willing to help out of class.

I thought he was a great prof for this particular course. He gives you the ability to research something that's interesting to you, and grants a lot of independence. He won't spoon feed you, you are required to actually think for yourself.

If you like to pay to selfstudy, you can take his class. You don't need to go to his lecture at all to do well. His notes are messy which I think Nobody can really read them. All you can do is to study the textbook.Never post exam answers, so you don't know how to improve your answers in the next exam. TA deduct 1 or 2 marks because stupid reason

The class is easy I cannot understand how anyone can rate the class poorly the prof ?s ok not great he spends way too much time on useless math equations which are useless and are not on the midterm or final. If you just study the practice exams and the uderstand the main models the class is very easy.

I never attended classes after the midterm and ended up with A. All you need is study the course by yourself because his lectures are useless and his notes remind me an Arabic script. His exams are extremely easy for those who understand the main points. I would not take any other class with him as self-studying is not my thing

Although his lecture might be all over the place, Easton is an enthusiastic Prof. If you visit his office hours he would be more then willing to help you out. Textbook use is really high, exam questions are based on the text so there should not be any surprises if you get the concepts. Just his writing is what makes the lectures difficult.

Very useless prof, writes notes as if he has a pen in his mouth, off track easily and unclear "Today we're going to talk about this but you won't need to know this but I'm going to say it anyways", doesn't answer questions clearly or engage the class in any way, 2-hour boring lectures. Exams as described below. Easton - not even once AVOID PLEASE!

5 bad out of 5 bad! bad teaching, bad notes, bad TA, bad exams and bad marking scheme. bad bad bad!! last question in the final worth 1/3 of 50% of your total grades. And it is an open question. You better be a buddy of your TA otherwise you get ugly marks... He makes easy things complicated..and the course super dumb boring

you need to read the textbook in order to understand what he does in class because he is very unclear and he skips a lot of steps when explaining some models. His lecture notes are useless because you wouldn't able to read his terrible handwriting and messy graphs. He himself is the only one who can understand those messy notes. bad TA bad marking

He is a very passionate prof. but he's very bad at explaining things!!! He never stops talking for the whole 2 hours. Also lectures are not too helpful with his terrible handwriting. I guess the only reason he s still in SFU is that his exams are fairly easy. You just need to study the course by yourself.
