Professor Lane really enjoys his job, and you can tell he cares about his students. He is also a pastor! I took old testament with him, and I turned out really liking it and learning a lot. There are 3 large papers in that class that really sucked, and 3 quizzes. Overall, I would recommend taking his class.

Mr Lane is nice and cares about his students. We had 3 papers in this class which were 8 pages each. That part sucked, but if you do those and study the vocab before quizzes you should be ok. Hopefully he tones down the writing in the future.

Pastor Lane is honestly the nicest Prof I have had so far at Messiah. However, he does not really know how to teach effectively and the material that he teaches on is quite boring. Quizzes are usually worded strangely. There are several long and arduous papers, but as long as you do the work, you are pretty much guaranteed to get a good grade.

Grades papers hard. Papers rubrics are near useless as they do not accurately explain what he is looking for. His power points are pretty close to useless if you ask me. Do anything you can to get cosby.

He is a pastor so he teaches like a pastor. He is nice, but he doesn't integrate the book with the lectures, and it's hard to know what's important and what's not. His quizzes are worded strangely so it's easy to get a bad grade on them. His powerpoints are also kind of useless, so it's important to pay attention, but it's hard to pay attention.

pretty boring professor. It's the class discussions that will liven things up a bit. He's a BIC pastor, but he does a good job of not letting it shape his lectures. He's very vague when answering your questions, even though he often clarifies what you're asking. Fair grader, but not easy necessarily. Cannot use internet on papers, only book sources

He is a wonderful teacher, has good insights(comes up with original teaching ideas) and is very interested in his students. Also, for the most part, if you put in consistent effort, you will receive an A. I HIGHLY recommend Bible with him-he makes it as interesting as possible.
