Default: to swat your mosquito-of-a-question away, unless you've somehow managed to get on his good books (by writing better papers than I did?), in which case he'll address it and you can take the gesture as a compliment. 1st class with him is O.O + drool. 2nd class with him is S&M, your mind a wallowing Submissive. Take Lofts.

Dr. Lofts is one of the best profs I have this year. He is so intelligent! You have to go to every class though. If not, you are done for by the time exams come. Philosophy is not an easy subject in any means to teach, but he complements it to a tea. He takes lots of time to review material and always asks if it is clear. I HIGHLY recommend him!!

He was very disorganized. He would say one thing and do another. Not helpful or clear. I didn't even know what to do for my assignments even though I attended every class and personally talked to him to clarify. He often made innapropriate comments. For example, he mentioned in a lecture that he enjoyed making people's lives hell.

Amazing professor - very personable and extremely intelligent. He respects students as much as they respect him - go to class, do your assignments, and ask questions if you are unsure. His stories are hilarious and relevant to the class. He relates course material to the real world; his classes are a valuable life experience.

He is an exceptional individual ,I will give him that but man does he have an ego !!! Student to professor interaction is not tolerated at all and if you are one of those people who need extra structure in courses, don't expect it from lofts . joke course ( if you have a brain)

Awesome! and I use that word in the litral sense. Brilliant, and not afraid to put a student in their place! If you don't plan on attending lectures, just drop the class or don't bother registering. Readings are important for lectures. Always helpful and willing to answer questions after class or via office hours or email. Grades very fairly!

I took this course two years ago and only now realize its importance. It is a great preparation for later years. He asks nothing of his students he does not ask of himself.

Good teacher, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, exams were on the harder side but there weren't many suprises! I'd take a different class with him, the material was sometimes dry.

Great at explaining concepts and making sure the class understands the general idea. Reiterates important concepts, which is really helpful. However, he doesn't put up with any b.s. and thinks his opinion is the only opinion acceptable. Overall, great prof.

Great professor, but doesn't put up with anyone's crap. Be prepared to have your world view dissected -- he's not going to agree with you to be P.C. Course is easy if you do the readings and take good notes.

This is a great class. Dr. Lofts urges his students to think about the important and relevant issues. He is also absolutely hilarious. Time flies, even with no breaks. Go to class, do the readings, and you'll do well. It's pretty much that simple.

If all Professors were like him, King's would be a mucb better institution. Prof Lofts cares about the students, and its evident in his lectures. If he feels as though he has gotten through to the class, he is happy, you can tell; and, thats admirable. I hold him in the hightest esteem.

He knows his stuff, and teaches it well. He's extremely funny, and a really nice guy. I totally recommend him. That being said, he's kinda whiny.
