I loved this class! He is very passionate about what he teaches and very knowledgeable. He is willing to help students because he genuinely wants them to succeed. He ever lets students help create the syllabus so it's tailor made for the students in the class at that time. Would recommend his classes to anyone!

This class is not what anyone had expected. It is more focused on the political and social history of temperance than prohibition and rum-running. Professor Dutcher is a great teacher though. He's friendly and helpful even if the material is a little dry.

Very good teacher for a very interesting topic. Answered any questions and he'll give the marks you derserve. Watch out for those dates on the tests. Get ya everytime.

Comment:

Dutcher clarified what terms students were expected to know although he is not terribly clear on what he expects for assignments. Do yourself a big favor and ask him questions about assignments if you are confused. Overall he was a reasonable and nice professor who cared about his student's progess.
