Great start to honors classes in college. Very writing intensive, at times causing me to fall behind resulting in late grades, but that's the nature of both composition and honors composition classes. He's very caring, will so much as check in by email if you missed a class to see if everything's okay, important updates, etc. Show up to class!!!

A lot of reading & online discussion boards but only three major worsting papers due through the semester. He gives great feedback & will let you redo one at the end of the semester. Extremely easy to get a hold of and very understanding.

Steve is a nice guy, but he gives an unrealistic amount of work. Hope you're never sick because he'll never let you live it down if you miss even one class. Essays due every week and portfolios due with little time for revision. Strict late work policy only for students he doesn't favor. Gives generic comments on essays, doesn't read most work

Deeply cares for students. If he can put in so much time to meet and give feedback on our writing, I feel the most his students can do is put in their time and effort to complete the work he assigns.

He's a nice funny guide, but there is SO MUCH HOMEWORK. I understand it's a writing class, but for the honors comp, we had a new paper due every single week. If you take this class, be sure you have quite a bit of free time. One benefit to his class is there is no final exam.

Class was one of the most interesting writing classes I took in terms of my commitment and class participation. That was 15+ years ago. To this day one of the projects sticks out in my mind as something good. However, I really don't remember much the man said or did beyond competently covering the material and expecting us to do the work.

I had Krause for two classes in one semester, six weeks in I was ready to give up. He's unrealistic about the workload and unorganized. At one point between the two classes I had about six or seven projects going on at one time. He has a harsh policy against any absences, and can be condescending. He's a nice enough guy, but my anxiety was affected

I like Prof Krause, but I took 2 of his classes in 1 semester and literally never had free time. I managed to keep up with the coursework and get 2 A's, but I could not have done it if I had a job/social life. It was doable for me but hellish. He is not sympathetic to college students' workloads. Also - tough grader, comments didn't match grades.

Heavy workload. Don't think that just because you're taking him online that you participation/attendance won't matter. He structures the class as if it's on campus. Not very flexible. He's easily accessible, though, and very friendly. I got through without buying a book, but it would probably help if you did get it. Very interesting class!

He's a really smart and nice guy. Definitely knows what he's talking about. However, he's completely insensitive and unrealistic about a student's workload. The amount of work you need to do for one of his classes is the equivalent of what you would typically do for two or three other classes. He expects a lot out of you, which can be good and bad.

Krause expects you to do the reading and bring something substantial to the discussion, whether the class is in-person or online. However, you'll also get to reach outside your comfort zone and play with tech; he's a techie, so expect to dabble no matter what class you take with him.

He made us do things that were difficult and we had to figure out some of the assignments and really think about them. I am upset that he made me think so much and can't wait to get into classes where this is not a requirement.

His instructions were vague, due dates often changed, and even though his attendance policy is strict, several times class was dismissed after just a few minutes. Nice for students living on campus, but really annoying for those who drove to campus just for that class. That said, I liked him and I usually agreed with his assessment of my work.

Directions unclear. Wasn't very helpful answering questions, very short responses. Class required a lot of group work on projects that would have been more beneficial to do individually.

Honestly, this was the worst class experience I've had in my entire college career. He grades harshly and the comments don't match the grades. He came off as very condescending when he did reply to questions; however, he also would occasionally not answer a question at all. If you can find another prof, do so!

Excellent professor but, a lot of work. You get out of this class what you put into to it and it is designed for you to put a lot into the class. I recommend taking a course with Steve. Cool guy.

If you take this class online with Krause, you will learn a lot, but slacking is NOT an option. You will need to be online every day, use technology, and read and write quite a bit. I learned a lot in his class, but not without hard work. The only complaint I have is that this class should be designated as "Writing Intensive."

Professor Krause uses cloud technology heavily (e.g. Google Docs). He is a good professor. If you do everything he tells you to do, you will pass the class, and more importantly, become a good (or at least a better) writer.
