Comment:

I took several of his courses at Misericordia University from 2008-2011 and I loved every one of them. It started out with a basic theology course that was required and eventually turned into every elective I had. From Christianity to Hinduism. Now, I can't say everyone would love these classes, but I wish I could go back and take them again.

I almost didn't take him bc of some of the other reviews on here, but I am very glad I did. Awesome professor, absolutely an expert in his field. He's written several books going back to the 80s on the New Testament. MU students don't even understand how lucky they are to have someone so accomplished as their prof. His political views kick ass too.

Dr. Davies is an interesting teacher. He takes time to learn every persons name, however, he will use that to call on you at any time regardless. He has his own way of thinking and does not accept any other way. Tests are easy if you have the material to study but usually he does not tell you what will be on them. Do not recommend

SO BORING!!!! Makes you buy HIS text book.Only had to write 2 papers, they weren't that hard.Tests suck he doesn't tell you whats on them. He only put essays on the tests once.However, beware them if he does they were hard and graded harshly.

"Interesting" professor, he curves all of his tests and never gave any papers. I had him for a night class, so two and a half hours of scattered lectures was awful.

I really am not a fan of him as a professor. He tries to make class interesting, but it doesn't really work. He tends to answer questions with "I don't know" and expects you to be able to decode glyphs like they're English. Would not reccomend

Dr. Davies is with out a doubt the hardest religion teacher at misery, but with that said he does make it somewhat fun. We had two papers that we had to turn in and his tests are difficult. our first test was on 26 chapters . But he does curve and as long as you show up to take the test he will give you a C no matter what you get on the tests.

Amazing professor! Is brilliant. He taught me so much about the bible and through his class, i have reached a deeper understanding to the most widely known book in the world. Hard but take him if you can!

Davies tends to repeat himself a lot and he likes to poke fun at slackers. If you miss too many classes, he will make fun of you as well, although he doesn't take attendance. But if you go and pay attention to what he says you will do fine. He places emphasis on the topics that he will put on the tests. Funny, funny man.

He just rambles on and on. It is hard to pick up any hints in his lectures.He doesn't use powerpoint. Alot of reading is really the only way to pass his class. His test are some of the worst I've taken. The questions on his tests are like true guessing games.

He does nothing but ramble on about the various facts he knows about the Bible. He is a brilliant man but prefers to prove to everyone just how smart he is rather than be a helpful teacher. Avoid taking him if at all possible.

He's an EXPERT at theology and it shows. I would DEF recommend him to take, he asks questions that may, *upset* your apple cart, but it only makes you analyze the topic (or religion) in a higher degree. A++

Very random in class. Hard to figure out what to take notes on and what he is just talking about for fun. I had him for a night class, and the afternoon class seemed to have it a lot easier. Take him in the day time.

Dr. Davies is not easy but, he is the best teacher I have ever had. He is very intelligent, interesting and passionate about what he teaches. You have to take at least one class wiht him!
