Terribly hard grader. Attendance is mandatory. Final alone is worth 12% of your overall grade and is comprehensive. You also have a test during dead week, that is separate from your final.

He gives you one example of a problem, and never touches it again. Then you'll get slammed on the quizzes and exams. The labs are easy, just pay attention. John the lab guy is the best, but McKim is a tough cookie.

Dr. McKim knows Chemistry and is thorough in his teaching - he is available if you have questions and tutors are available through the department. The class is tough, but if you pay attention, do your homework, and take meticulous notes (which you will study from) - the class is great and you will learn a lot. This class is great for Chem majors.

There is a reason he has 8 reviews when most professors only have a few. He is the worst professor I have had at Southeastern. He teaches in a monotone, takes a ridiculously long time to write everything on the board rather than using powerpoint, and generally treats the class like a bunch of 1st graders. If you take McKim you will not enjoy Chem.

He talks to us as if we are in kindergarten and spends an hour on what could be fully covered in ten minutes. This is an excruciating 5 credit hour class but could be taught in 2 or 3. If you have to have him, bring something to class so it's not a total waste of time and take notes b/c if you don't then he probably won't help you with anything.
