Knows her stuff. Affable, when you do your work & come on time. Helpful feedback, will be harsh if you do not adhere to her guidelines. (keep up with the syllabus & you will be safe, guaranteed) Keep your head down, do your work on time. You will learn lots of useful techniques in class. Downside, likes to talk about herself. Passive- aggressive.

She knows just about everything there is to know in regard to art techniques and useful skills/tricks. She knows nothing about being friendly. Unnecessarily yells at people and is rude. Gives excellent critiques and advice. Take the class to learn a lot, just don't take her sharp remarks personally.

Takes getting used to. Get to know her and she's very affable, down-to-earth, but no-nonsense. Demands 100% but it's well worth the effort if you like art. If you're looking for an "easy" humanity, do not take her classes. You will learn a lot and enjoy it if you work hard and are respectful (i.e. no half-a$$ing work, arrive on time, etc).

I didn't like her. The class itself was fine, and she teaches ok and makes students get involved in art, but she doesn't come off as being very nice or caring about students. Trying to get a recommendation fom her is a nightmare.

for printmaking, she knows everything needed, except not digital. is very easy to get a B if you do all the processes right and have a concept behind your art. very hard to get an A, as she critiques rather harshly, and (in my experience) rarely points out what i was aiming at in my artwork.

Although Sue can be rather intense, she's also extremely dedicated and invested in the success of her students. She provides a rigorous academic look at art-making and focused individual attention--in short, she's fabulous for the potential art student.Â

Her criticism was unnecessarily harsh and she was not openminded at all. She liked to hear herself talk, and she seemed to have her nose up in the air. I didn't learn much from her, but thankfully the TA was helpful so the class was enjoyable.
