I highly recommend Professor Berger. Her lectures get a little boring sometimes, but she does try to keep the class lively by having small group discussions and really cares about her students. She's very lenient in terms of deadlines, if you just talk to her. She knows what she is talking about. She also offers extra credit.

Professor Berger is a great professor. Although there are readings for the classes, she is very thorough in her lectures that you don't even have to read if you take good notes. There are no pop quizzes and questions for the tests are given in advance. If you did poorly on a paper, you can talk to her and rewrite. She also offers extra credit.

Great professor her class may seem boring at times but she's better to talk to one on one during office hours. Allows for discussion between classmates in class. Grading is clear and easy no pop quizzes just pay attention. She gives questions for midterm and final beforehand.

Professor Berger is very nice, understanding, and intelligent but the class itself is very boring. I would recommend her but not Politics of Immigration. There's a lot of reading due and a long paper at the end. Midtermfinal are okay because she preps you well.

Comment:

Very critical with APA format. Deducts points for APA format errors, spelling and grammar. Although she was critical of essay formatting, she helped me become a better writer and more aware of my writing mistakes. Quizzes were very difficult and a matter of semantics. She makes it clear what she expects and if you deviate you lose points.

I've had Dr. Berger for many classes. She is seriously a wonderful professor. Her classroom is a haven for intellectualism. She treats students like real people, and is so warm and friendly outside the classroom. Nothing but amazing things to say, she's made my years at Fordham memorable. Very straightforward. Do well on exam and paper A.

This class is boring and can move slowly. But she is extremely understanding and if you need to hand in a paper late, you will not have any points deducted. If you show extreme interest in the class and a basic understanding of the works read you will have no problem getting an A. Depends on the students on making the class or else she will lecture

Professor Berger is a saint. I've had her for three classes and would take her again if I could. While not the most commanding lecturer, she shines in guiding class discussion and always has great insight. In addition to being a very fair grader and brilliant in her field, she is one of the most approachable and personable professors I've had.

Fantastic Professor. Had her for Politics of Immigration, taking her again this semester for Intro to Comp. Politics. Class material was interesting enough. She's an adorable older woman who knows a lot about what she's teaching. Tests are essay-based, and easy as pie if you study what she tells you to. Take her!

Took her intro to politics course. The material was very dry; not much she could do about that. Reading load is more on the heavy side, but the midterm and final were pretty straightforward. Great lady. Terrible class. She might as well not be there. I learned as much in this class as I would have if I had just bought the required text and read it on my own.
