I'm normally an A student and she still ripped my lesson apart until it was entirely her wording, and then she failed it. I don't know how she is still teaching. None of the strategies she taught were on the math section of the mttc elementary education test.

This professor was the worst I've ever had. She chooses a few students each year and rips them apart. The lesson plans she requires are 40 pages each. She fails lessons because she can, regardless of the quality. She made me not want to be a teacher. I've never hated a professor before, but she makes the list.

The reviews on Dr. Hillman are very over-exaggerated. If you are a student who slacks off and avoids professors, she won't like you. However, if you are the kind of person who is friendly with your profs, shes amazing. She was great at giving feedback and she was very helpful throghout registration. I love her and I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Hillman was an excellent professor. I believe her to be a fair grader and a very caring instructor. She is genuinely caring about her students and you won't find a better prepared professor.

Dr. Hillman was a very strict professor who had a tendency of tearing down students, and would not pass a lesson unless it was done exactly the way she would write the lesson. However, I have heard that she has lessened the workload since the semester I had her. This, would make the class significantly more bearable.

For all the complaining I've heard about Dr. Hillman, she never did anything that made me think negatively of her. Do the work to the best of your ability, show up and participate, and be professional, and you'll be fine.

Dr Hillman does not explain assignments well, dosent give examples of assignments or breaks during class. Why is she still teaching? When you have a guest speaker every class it means you don't know how to teach the material yourself. Many professors at this school forget they are here to teach, not to set students up to fail. I learned nothing.

This class is really not that bad. I actually learned a lot from the course (not Hillman) She is a bit strict and really wants participation from the class! Everyone complains about the tests... they are not bad at all!!! People must realize if they are taking TE 331, they are in their 3rd or 4th year of college... work for your grades!!!

Wow, horrible! I have learned nothing in this class! We have 5 weeks left of the semester and just now received our exams back that we took in September! She is confusing and does not explain things well at all! You feel unprepared and this class is SO unorganized!!Everything is due in the last 3 weeks also!! The test are impossible!!

Ugh... She is simply the most confusing person I've ever met. She's nice one day, and not the next. Helpful one day, and condescending the next. Be weary... and be open minded... otherwise you're done for. If you're confused, you can ask questions until you're red in the face, and still won't get a straight answer... so good luck. The only reason I took her was because she was linked to Dr. Cline--and the only reason I would ever take her in the future!! She destroyed all of our lesson plans for our group yet kept saying "you don't know if it's going to work unless you try it" well then let us try it!! She has no experince with children or understanding of dev. stages!!

Honestly-She is as bad as everyone is saying. She knows Math but does not know how to teach it. She is one of those teachers that will keep you after class if anyone is late. The only thing good about her is that she is linked to Cline and he is awesome:)

VERY boring, and very critical. Seems like she's stuck in her ways and isn't open to new ideas. Two QUIZZES which are 7 pgs. or so of short answer/essay type questions. Class is hard, but not impossible to do well in. It's worth it because of the Science section it's linked to.

she grades to hard and is very boring. she has no experience with children and uses research to give input on your lesson plans, which is sometimes not relevent. When she says quiz she means TEST. I have never had a quiz that LONG. Take somenoe else.

A friend recommended this professor to me - I don't want to talk to that friend EVER AGAIN. The worst educator I've ever had at SVSU. No communication or people skills, NO PERSONALITY. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR!
