Comment:
Her quizzes were very hard because they were so subjective. This is because she put four right answers and said "pick the most right answer" which seemed to be entirely her opinion. There's too many words on her slides and she reads from an unrehearsed script in lecture. Also she attacks students if they quietly get up during class to leave or pee.

Lord was a good prof. This class felt like an english/history class. She was engaging and made a lot of relevant points that related to current events. Yes you can probably skip the lectures, but you'll find it a lot more difficult in tutorials. Paying attention during the tutorials is very important.

So boring. Also she loves to share her political views with the class and throw word like "Masterpiece" around for every second movie we watch...

Found it hard to understand her lectures; she stuttered quite a bit and had trouble getting her point across. The concepts were made even more confusing with all the terminology she used.

Good if you like incomphrensible rants. A prof who's constantly searching for words in between UMs and UGHs. I feel like she does zero preparation for her lectures and decides to bullsh!t them entirely. I guess this passes for most firs year film students as ok, but anyone with any knowledge or serious enthusiasm for film will know she's a joke.

SPACE. CADET. She was incomprehensible, overly obsessed with Harvey Keitel's "member" and failed to demonstrate how the concepts she taught related to one another.

I loved the films she chose, but some of the concepts were hard to grasp as a "non-filmie". However her enthusiasm showed despite her frazzled attitude.

The Suze *loves* what she does, and it shows. Oddly enough, this is the class that prompted me to go on to Grad studies. She's 1 in a million.

too theoretical (which can be a good thing) but doesn't explain things very well. Doesn't try to understand where your perspective is coming from. Very smart, very interesting class, seems to care about her students but hard to understand.

Added a much needed jolt of life to the course. Brittantly scatterbrained and engaging, Dr. Lord follows a clear, consistent theme across her section of the course. She also had the best selection of movies (By far). The quail in rose petal sauce was a nice touch!

Praise the Lord! she can be a bit scattered and all over the place, but she is brilliant and a genuinely great person. She also knows lots of arty-filmy people (esp. in canada) so if you want to go to grad school she would be a good person to get to write your recommendation letter.

Bit of a space cadet but she's ok once u get used to her. She's a little confusing and abstract but intensely smart. Doing the readings sucks, but it helps. ps this course is easy

Her section of Film 110 in Fall 2002 was amazing. Her lectures were interesting and provocative. She knows her stuff and was willing to share it with a large class of first year students.

Nothing like teaching a media course without having cable. She is too wishy washy. Does not enjoy opinions that differ from her own. Especially when they prove hers wrong.
