Comment:

Passed the class but gives out very strict grades. Defiantly is the type of teacher to also wait a month to grade anything, classes arent very organized and following what shes talking about gets a little tricky sometimes. Like her as a person but not as a professor.

Love her! Sometimes not clear with grading material, was accessible, but very very busy. We had this writing tool kit, that was difficult for me. Helped me with critical thinking and thinking in general. A very nice Prof, who's vibrant, sometimes late, and gives late notice for class. Likes to have fun and include everyone make them feel welcomed!

Prof. Mowers is really cool. She has a love for poetry that is infectious and she is flexible and forgiving when it comes to assignments. Class discussions are regular and usually really interesting. She has a way of including a childlike creativity in the classroom, while still treating her students like respected adults.

Literally the best teacher in the world! She is so passionate about what she teaches and wants to share that with her students; always paying attention to what students say, or what stood out to them, and trying to learn from their ideas and perspectives on the text. There is A LOT of reading assigned in British Literature but it's SO GOOD!

I absolutely love Prof Mowers. She gave amazing feedback on papers and used the in class assignments as writing tools that we could use for our papers. Reading the books wasn't that fun but overall, i highly enjoyed the class.

Prof Mowers hated me right from the 1st day. I was late twice (less than 5 mins late) over the entire semester and she called me out in front of the entire class and was VERY mean. She would give me bad grades on papers and wrote on my childhood memory paper "bad memory, talk to me". 'm usually an A student- got a C- in this class for no reason

An amazing teacher. I highly recommend her for any class. She gives you feedback on your writing, which helps you improve tremendously. Super nice, cares about students. One of my favorite teachers.

I loved Prof. Mowers! She was a tough grader, but she helped a lot. She grades fairly, so if you put in crappy work, you'll get a crappy grade. There is a book to read, but she reads some in class. Group paper (non-mandatory groups) at the end. It was a great class! She's awesome!

Comment:

She was an amazing English teacher. She makes you think about things that you don't think about. Gives great feedback via camtasia and makes herself available to talk about your essays. I would definitely take her again because she is someone that I connected with on an intellectual level. The grade is pretty much made up of four essays, though.

I would not recommend her, she is one of the hardest graders out there. Also, I felt like I did not learning anything useful in the class. Seemed like a throwback to middle school. If you are good at writing papers, then maybe she would be good for you, but if you are not, do not take her class.

I learned little to nothing in this class. It wasn't hard to do well, but a lot of the things we did seemed unnecessary and elementary school like. What was due and supposed to be included in papers was very confusing and unclear and seemed to change as the projects progressed. No tests, and no final but classes dragged on.

This class was by far my favorite of the semester! Professor Mowers in so intelligent and passionate and wonderful to listen to. It's always hard to know how a professor will grade your papers, but I felt I received fair grades on them all. Her online tests are wonderful and, dare I say, fun? I looked forward to this class every day without fail.

I had professor mowers for English 101. She was awesome. She has some busy work in her class but she lets you know at the end of every week what needs to be done for the next week. She uses Camtasia to edit your paper which I found very helpful. Note that she hates cell phones and when you miss TOO many classes. I chose her for en102 as well

I loved her! She was so passionate about what she was teaching, she explained everything step by step, and she was inspiring. I saw a comment here that said it was impossible to get a good grade on her papers... I got a 100% on every single one. You just have to throw yourself into your writing. Don't hold back and don't be formal and boring.

One of the best teachers I have had. She is kind, caring, very smart, and immensely helpful with assignments. Her classes are interesting, casual, and as long as you do the work you will do fine. I guarantee you will learn a lot from her. Also, she is absolutely gorgeous considering her age! (mid 50's) Highly recommended!
