i never had her for an actual class, but i had a writing center appointment with her and she's the worst. I had a few tense mistakes and she brought in my race and was just rude about everything. She acted like I was dumb and kept asking if i knew the basic words even thought I'm taking engl 165 smh

Thank God she's called it quits. Very snobby and sometimes just plain rude to classmates. She knows and loves literature but effectiveness as a teacher is questionable. Grading in any english class has some wiggle room based on the person reading it,this one has no mercy. Please go back to france!

I saw all of the negative comments on this professor and thought they were exaggerated. She is strict but fair. You are allowed to rewrite one of your essays, and as long as you come in to have her correct your papers(at least once) before you turn them in it's all good. She is a stickler for format, and citation, but she is a genuine educator.

She is by far one of the worst teachers I have ever come in contact with. She has a snob attitude and knows nothing of how to connect with students to inspire a desire to learn the subject material. I love Fench and I would love to study more of it but I will never again subject myself to one of Petit's classes. Horible horible teacher!!!!!

she is a good teacher. you will work hard but, nothing is rocket science here. she is helpful and willing to explain her reasons for a grade. her preference in how you write is a little Unusual compared to other english teachers but, in college every professor has a different prefrence and it didnt kill me. she is nice and witty in class.

shes very smart. very elaborate. though, extremely dry humor. i was easily irritated. but again, she is very kind. i think i scare her though. Anyway, i never got an A. She is strict on MLA format and grammar. So, I recommend going to the Writing Lab a couple of times AND going over your paper in her office. She will sculpt your paper the way she wants it to look like!

Nice teacher, very knowledgeable, but if you want an "A" in this course, you really have to work for it. She helps with essays, but she is really tough on grading. Weekly quizzies are easy, but mid & final's are a little more difficult. Not an easy class, but you'll learn a lot from her. Take with caution.

she is a nice person and will be willing to help you if you need some help on essays. HOWEVER, she is harsh on grading. She lowers your grade by 1/3 a grade each day you are late. There is pop quiz almost every week. She seems to love and know a lot about literature. Take her only if you are willing to work very hard.
