She was an awesome online instructor. I found all the topics we discussed to be interesting and easy to read. Never did I struggle or found myself confused because she was very clear in the assignments. Loads of reading and quizzes but just follow the syllabus and you'll be fine.

Even though the class was online I felt like I had a personal relationship with her because she always responded to my emails and knew where I was coming from. She is very fair and patient as long as you are diligent and honest.

This was my first time taking an online class &I couldnt have asked for a better experience! She gives you a week to read chapters &take timed quizzes. There were discussion posts, but they were easy as well as her final. She responds to emails quickly. I was shy a few points from an A &she let me turn in a late extra cred assignment to make up.

Overall OK professor. Straightforward assignments and clear expectations of the class. HOWEVER, beware of her test questions as they highly resemble the written tests at the DMV. Which is the correct answer? They all sound correct??! *head desk* Overthinking goes a long way in this class. Welcome to sociology.

I took Professor Tong's Principals of Sociology course online during the summer. It is imperative you read the syllabus and get the correct edition of the textbook. Quiz was every 3 days for a total of 17 quizzes. Extremely easy questions (15 true/false and multiple choice questions). Answers can be found in the text, of course, but also online.

I've taken her for a couple Soc classes, all online. She makes you work for an A. Makes up all her own test questions so no cheating. Readings were tough, tricky, confusing. Assigns papers, discussions, tests. Well organized, easy to find things. If you're lazy or want an easy A, do not take her. I've managed to pass her classes, but wasn't easy.

She makes up her own test questions, you can't find anything on the web so absolutely no cheating. Lots of long discussions. She also gives tests on long readings & the readings are very long & difficult. The questions are more difficult & very tricky. Do not take if you're lazy, slacker or a cheater. You have to work hard for just a C grade.

I only rated her helpfulness a 4 because it's an online class. She lays everything out for you. Everything is straight forward and if she makes a mistake, she owns it. I rated her easiness a 4 only because you can't just show up and pass, you have to put in work. The best experience I've had with an online class! I wish everyone adopted her style!

Took the online course and it was EXTREMELY easy! As long as you skim through the textbook, youre good for the quizzes which are pretty much the whole class. Each week, theres a quiz and MAYBE an additional writing or discussion assignment but nothing too much. Follow the calendar and you should be good to go! :) Definitely recommend!!

Her online class was easy but her teaching style was confusing and frustrating. Her assignments didn't have anything to do with the reading and she seemed very disorganized. For instance, we had a discussion post about divorce, the week before we read the chapter about divorce. If she organized the class better it would have been great.

Professor Tong is SUPER ORGANIZED. She responds to your e-mails promptly and her class is not at all hard. She has weekly quizzes which are timed but theyre not hard. You have to read or at least skim through the text in order to do well in the class. But definitely not hard! I enjoyed SOCI 1 very much!

Susan Tong is awesome. I took Sociology 1 online and it she responds quickly via our college emails. If you need help she is very understanding. Dr. Tong is a great online teacher. She responds to emails via blackboard. The readings are easy and can be accomplished in a day. Discussion boards/surveys are opinion based.Quizzes are fairly easy and enough time is given to complete. I have taken her for Soc3 n Soc4 and you can tell she deeply cares about the subject.do the work, you pass.

GREAT teacher! You can take all the quizzes & Surveys pretty much in 1 day if u wanted to, just check in time to time for discussions that she doesn't make available until a few days before it's due. Never read the book, just skimmed through the book to answer questions on quizzes, super easy. Surveys are opinion based, not textbook related.

Prof. Tong assigns little work and posts all the assignments in the beginning (i took the course online). She allows a lot of time to do each assignment as well. However, I did not like the fact that she took so much time to respond emails. It was a bit frustrating. The class was not bad though.
