I've had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Zimny quite well and she is an amazing individual. She is brilliant beyond belief and one of the most caring people I have ever met. Unfortunately, she is retiring after this year so there is no chance anyone will be able to take her again. I just wanted to rate her incase she sees this. You're the best!

absolutely horrific. I have never failed a class before her. I am a bio major that generally receives Bs in all of my classes. We would do the labs in groups and my group would pass but I would fail. why? because I missed 2 classes.

Terrible absolutely terrible. If you miss a class or even late for a class she remembers you and gives you bad grades even if they're right. the girl next to me copied me had almost word for word my answers and got a 90% and i got a 50 when we asked she said mine were just wrong. I am a B average biology major with a psych minor and i struggled....

Best professor I've had at IUP so far. I've learned a lot from her both related to the course and outside of the course. The material she teaches is very hard, but she's more than willing to clarify if needed. You have to work hard in this class, but it's worth it! I suggest taking Dr. Zimny if you have the chance!

A very interesting experience. I absolutely loved her, but don't take if you don't want to work hard or you can't handle "tough love". She's super knowledgable in the field and brings her passion to class. I've learned a lot from her.

Dr. Zimny is hands down my favorite professor. She if full of knowledge. She will go over material until the class understands. If you ask for help, you will get it. It is not an easy A class, but the work you put in will be worth it. You will leave that class having learned something. She has passion for what she does and it shows in her teaching.

She always went off topic, she expects you to know what she is talking about in lecture, she gives poor notes (no slides, handwritten), shes grades the tests and papers the way she expects them to be, even if you're right. I suggest taking another professor. I never received an F in my college career, well now I have & have to retake the course.

Zimny was the first Research Psychology professor that I actually understood. Don't get me wrong, she's a tough teacher, but she also pushes you to do your very best, because she knows you ARE smart enough to be in those seats. And she's chalk-full of knowledge. I'm taking her again next semester! :)

I LOVED THIS CLASS! We learned so much about environmental issues and when new info was discovered, she was willing to add it to what we were learning in class. Her tests are hard, but she rewards those that attend regularly. She is a fair professor and I loved her comments everyday in class. She has had a wonderful life and is very well-rounded.

Dr. Zimny is the most intelligent & hilarious professor I have ever taken. The only problems I had with the class were the rude, whiny students with whom I took it. She taught everybody who came with a desire to learn, and she did so with passion. I have an immeasurable amount of respect for her. If you like to learn and like a challenge, take her.

If you are seriously into research/environmental issues/attend class and contribute during discussions, you will not have a problem in Zimny's class. Even though her exams are tough, she's more than happy to go over stuff with you during office hours. She loves to help students and I am now working with her in a research practicum.

Having class with Zimny is probably the best academic thing that ever happened to me at IUP. She is HILARIOUS and extremely intelligent. She will call you out in front of a whole class if she feels you're not living up to your potential. She made me love research and the environment. If she knows you're genuinely trying she WILL help you.

BYFAR THE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! She's unfair. She's a unclear/unfair/confusing grader. Doesn't care about her students. Expects you to know everything and teaches you NOTHING. Scatter Brained. Discourages office hours. No help what so ever! Basically she will make you cry and hate your life..
