Comment:
I took this course along with another two coding-heavy courses, yet, this class took 80% of my time. A lot of assignments that were no fun. Lots of reading, not fun. Group projects should be fine if your teammates actually do stuffs. I was an A+ until the final, we felt cheated by the final. I ended up with a B+ and all of my friends were the same.

She is very passionate and qualified for this class. Theres a lot reading required for this class, with a reading quiz every class. She gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit, almost for every quiz. She is very reasonable if you have any issues or concerns. She is very sweet and understanding.

Her lecture skills are sharp and will keep you focused. Assigns too much knit-picky work and it can get disorganized. Lenient grader and gives extensions. Final included a study guide and wasn't too bad. The mock trial/creative projects were probably the biggest chunk of your grade but I think she's one of many professors who actually cares about u

She gives SO much work. The workload is unbearable w/other classes. She likes to ramble about 1 thing and it's hard for her to get everything done in a class. She didn't give us too much time for group work because she talked too much. Quizzes are fine and you can resubmit papers whenever you want tho. You'll get an A, just have to work for it.

Prof can be strict but is lenient to give extensions. Need to really know cases well for quizzes, essays, final. Class grade heavily depends on mock/creative group proj so choose members well. Lots reading/assignments. For final, her study guide was helpful, but asks questions discussed inclass - take notes. Tedious workload, but informative class!

Professor Maddox was pretty cool, but I found her to be a little strict mainly due to her high expectations. I wasn't a fan of the class itself mainly because of its time-consuming nature. You'll have to read the textbook and cases to pass the final exam. You can choose between mock trial and creative group, so that's a good thing about the class.

Prof. Maddox is cool. Lectures were pretty interesting. Final exam was easy. Choice between mock trial or creative group. Grades on both depend primarily on which group members you are with. Class requires some effort, but not bad if you keep up. Suprise quizzes

Managed to take a class I was totally uninterested in and make it actively engaging. Assignments were fair but some of the readings can be time consuming. Overall an excellent professor who really cares about the success of her students.

I didn't think I would enjoy this class but she made it worth going. You definitely need to go & pay attention in class to pass her tests. You'll also have to read the Red Book before she plans to go over it in class bc if she doesn't feel like enough people have, she will give pop quizzes! This class isn't hard, but there are a lot of assignments.

CS 306 is based on understanding the laws and reading cases. The prof. is very nice and fair. The is one big team project worth 30%. Besides, there was one midterm and final. She provides a study guide for midterm and final. Solve the study guide and you will get good grades.

Similar in demand to a typical humanities class. Several short easy essays, case readings and somewhat optional textbook reading, and 1 major group project. Exams were more or less fair. Lectures were interesting, but she often trails off and wastes time talking (no slides, lectures are disorganized). Fun class if you like law/ethics.

took down my gpa at its finest. professor is great I enjoy her lectures however 50% of class time is discussed on what will be covering next class. It's just the amount of work. this is more of a 6 credit class. very strict grader. UTA sucks in grading, will unreasonably take off points at every mistake. exams are essay heavy

She's professional/intelligent, but every week there's a paper due and you prepare for the mock trial with weekly LONG assignments as well. It is TOO much work and she has very harsh/high expectations of her students. Her criticism is often rude and mean considering we are not real lawyers and have to learn all new material before the mock trial

Entertaining and highly understanding of students. We talked a lot about murdering people in order to explain ethical theories. The class itself doesn't have much to do with computers but it was required. She worked with me when I had a technical problem with an assignment and followed my ODS accommodations. Grade based on 2 essays. ACS/SWE

The class is horrendously disorganized. Her lectures consist of covering next week's class schedule and hardly anything of actual substance. As a class, it is useless for CS majors, as a teacher, she grades unfairly. Don't expect to get your grades back in under 3 weeks. The material/classwork would be very easy if someone else was teaching it.

Excellent class that teaches soft skills CS students need to know in the professional setting + just life in general. Sounds really boring, but material is taught and tested in a really fun way. Only two tests, both are very easy, and she gives great feedback on written assignments and presentations. Also super receptive to special circumstances.

This class is very disorganized and far too much work for 3 credits. CS majors should be participating in something related to their field instead pretending to be attorneys in fake trials. The lecture was nonexistent, especially after the midterm. Learning anything from creative presentations or mock trials is next to impossible. Good luck.

Maddox loves giving huge homework/projects. Promised to never assign a homework assignment the same week as a project, second project ended up being the same week as a homework and midterm. Final project due during finals week (and we still have a final)... She did a great job teaching the basics of C, but lost the majority with Structs and List
