Professor Clewell is incredibly supportive and receptive to her students and their needs. Not only is she unimaginably intelligent, she is a genuine human being and very interesting to talk to. Downright hilarious, well-versed, challenging - everything you could want in an English professor. I highly recommend taking any of her courses.

Professor Clewell is someone who you do not want to miss out on. She provides a lot of individual feedback to assist you. Her lessons are always entertaining and interesting to listen to. Attendance mandatory, but you'll actually want to go. A lot of people are scared to talk in class, but she makes it easy and comfortable for you to speak up.

I LOVE professor Clewell! She's not only an amazing and knowledgeable teacher, but a kind and interesting person to talk to. I always looked forward to her class- it was one that I left feeling I learned a lot not only about english but the world in general. I'm usually the kid in class that never talks but in Tammy's class my hand was always up.

There is so much reading required for this class - as an English major, it's not bothersome in the slightest. Clewell is actually very kind and there to open you up to all sorts of interpretations and theories behind the text - thinks way outside the box. Definitely recommend if you like literary study or are interested in it - she is the best!

I had Professor Clewell in the spring of 2017 for a British Lit. class. She will challenge and support you, and can open up doors you never even bothered to venture near before. She is tough, engaging, and overall, a real gem. Take this prof!!

By far the coolest & most interesting professor I have ever had in 3 years at Kent State. She has an exceptional sense of humor and is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She makes even the most boring material interesting and I learn a lot every class. Her exams require extensive thought and preparation and you must attend class & participate.

Clewell was one of the most well-versed profs I've had. But if you plan on missing a few days of class - it's gonna destroy you. She gives surprise quizzes of 2-4 questions, but if you miss a quiz you have to write an essay whose pages match the # of questions on the quiz you missed. 4 question multiple-choice? 4 PAGE ESSAY due next class...

Great Books 2 was my first summer class, which worried me, but I loved every minute of it. Tammy is one of the best professors I've had at Kent state. She is extremely intelligent, easy going, and has great stories. If given the opportunity, take her class over other professors!

Tammy is awesome. Over the years she seems to have collected the historical knowledge of a college textbook and she never fails to have a hilarious story to tell. She is intelligent and easy-going. All you need to do to get an A in her class is participate and show up. Tammy is definitely one of the better professors I've had at Kent State.

I was so nervous before I took this course, but Clewell is an amazing teacher! Really! She's tough and at first glance, she seems like a real dragon, but she is very approachable, direct, and understandable. Take one of her classes if you get the chance, you won't regret it!

Prof Clewell is an extremely intelligent teacher that can truly make you think. Her work load is insane (an 8-10 page paper in a week on top of 100 pages of reading, for ex), but I learned a lot from the class, and she was kind and weirdly funny. Would definitely recommend if you like theory or are interested in it; she's a great professor!
