Dr. Allen is a great professor and a very kind and helpful person. I found that I didn't have to study much for her tests because I retained the lecture material so well, which is unusual for me! Her lectures are great and I believe that she tries very hard to create a friendly and inclusive class environment for everybody. Highly recommend.

I've had her a couple of times now, and as long as you actually go to class and pay attention, you won't have any problems. She's very approachable. I'd recommend her to anyone!

I really loved this class and Tana Allen! She is super approachable and helpful. Be prepared to do work and attend classes, which isn't asking much. The class was super interesting and Tana's lectures definitely made learning the material so much better. If you put effort in there's no reason you won't get an A. Would 100% take again!

Infantile. Her lecturing style is so puerile. Quit with the dumb jokes and just lecture. On that note, learn how to lecture. Her cadence is frustrating, she stumbles constantly on her words. Class participation in a lecture is frustrating, stop it. Far too self-important. Doesn't understand the importance of the diff. between an A and a B. Avoid.

I took a class with her for both semesters of my first year and was devastated to hear her taking the year off. You *really* need to put as much energy into the material as she does, which is a lot. Do not miss class, but I don't know why you would want to anyway because she's an awesome prof and class is far from a chore.

Very hard marker. I had a few classes with her before and thought she was a very pleasant person. But after this last class I can't say that anymore. My mark in her course was almost 20% lower than any other course I took this semester with the same amount of work put in. If you want a fair grade, stay away from this teacher.

Dr. Allen is WONDERFUL!!!! She is the best prof ive had at MUN and i will take as many classes as i can with her until i graduate. She really cares about her students and does great lectures. if you can, take a class with her!!

Very engaging, funny, always keeps things interesting! Don't take her class if you've already got a heavy courseload; there's a lot of reading and you *have* to do it. If you have the time to put into her classes, though, you'll do well and have a blast! If you go to class and pay attention, you know exactly what'll be on the exams.

Wow - I am surprised at some of these comments. Disorganized? All over the place? Her notes and lectures could not be more clear or chronological and her delivery could not be better. I doubt very much a "4th year A student" could not get an A in this course. She's awesome. Period.

Tana comes to class every day with a smile on her face and she really loves her subject material. I fell in love with the course from the start and look forward to taking another course with her sometime in the future. I would reccomend taking any course with Dr. Allen, because it is sure to be one of the best courses you will ever take!

History students be warned! Just because it is cross listed with Hist 2020 does not make it a hist course. This was the last hist course for my minor and by far my worst mark. I'm still trying to figure out how I could get a 90 in a 4th year history course and only a 58 in this one. With the same amount of work put in. Worst course ever!!!
