She had some great ideas for class and could have been a great professor. Her lectures where vague and I always felt like I was never quite grasping what was expected of me in class. If you get sick and have to miss a lot of class don't expect much help other than getting missed hand out from her.

I can't believe she is still teaching. I thought for SURE they would have fired her after my entire class stayed an extra 10 minutes to write novels on their course evalutions about how horrible this lady was. Please spare yourself the trauma. Take a different class.

I guess she's changed a bit because she's not mean anymore, but she's definitely still kind of vague. I don't like her quizzes at all ("quote recognition"). She was quite helpful to me in terms of keeping my grade up.

Avoid this one at all costs!She will not help you, you will not understand her expectations, class won't help you grasp readings, she wastes time that could be used helping students understand stuff by covering irrelevant material, and she can't grade (for you too A+ Engl major!). The saddest thing about Ms. Stern's course was that she really could be a great teacher if she trusted students at all. Made silly comments like "I've been taken advantage of" and gave students F's for MLA citation faults. Needs to trust students, share love of lit., not make them abhor it.

Worst professor I have ever had. Openly rude and disrespectful to students, has NO problem embarrassing you in front of the WHOLE class. completely vague on assignments. Inconsiderate, and will assign papers at the very last minute, throug e-mail only. does not follow syllabus.

Save yourselves while u still have time! I honestly have no clue how this woman was hired as a teacher. She's probably the most unhelpful professor i've had in my 3 years at UDel. The fist day of class she blew everyone's hopes of getting As b/c she "rarely thinks people deserve them". THANKS lady!
