No grading criteria, leaves only positive feedback, yet grades I quote "fantastic papers" as 63%. All assignments and work is graded at the same number regardless of quality, probably just copy pastes the same grade for everything. Hence, it's pretty easy to pass since you just have to do well on the first assignment.

It has been over 30 years since I took America Lit. with Ted. He was hands down my favourite professor. His balance between innovation and tradition was what most impressed me. He was organized, interesting and thoughtful to all students. I have gone on to work as an English Teacher and credit Ted for his inspiring class that me hope & direction.

One of the best profs I have encountered in my three years here. He is passionate about his lectures and keeps his students awake. He is very understanding if you show an effort in your work. Highly recommend taking Shakespeare with him!

I love Professor McGee, and he always has such interesting things to say. That said, his lectures are a big unorganized, and when you're really busy with a lot of school work, you don't want to be sitting in class where all the prof is doing is repeating stuff that he's already said, or is not relevant (as interesting as it all is, as I said).

Dr. McGee is the best ENGL prof @ UW. He is an amazing rhetorician and a VERY smart man. To the post-modern loser who said McGee is too "narrow minded," I'd like to translate that for everyone: I didn't get a good mark because I can't make a clear and well-written argument and since McGee tore apart my****ty paper, he's not tolerant. YOU SUCK! Boo

I took the first year seminar about shakespeare. I rather enjoyed the class, but it was easily forgettable. McGee seems very passionate...good humored, although in a seminar setting he came across as stoic/pastoral I would like to see him in a lecture series.

Passionate, highly intelligent, always comes to class with a smile.. friendly, and willing to help out. I handed in an essay 1 week late and had had no consoltation with him and I did not receive any marks off. Now, I don't recommend you go and do that, but he is one of my favourite profs all in all. Made me love english even more.

His classes are very entertaining and challenging at the same time. The 301H class included class discussions on very thought provoking issues and the 362 class is in lecture format. McGee is very passionate about teaching, a true English prof.

If you have to take Shakespeare, take it with him. He gives well prepared lectures, is excited about what he's teaching, so you stay awake in class, and he is very clear about assignments. You can get a good mark in this class, and actually enjoy it.

Very good prof. I loved his lectures, they were very interesting. He does take too much time to answer student questions (many of which are truly idiotic). Very approachable.

Needs to make his lectures more concise and has too much energy for class. He needs to settle down and focus on teaching. Not the best prof out there, that's for sure.

I thought his class was great, learned a lot, tons of examples. My only complaint was that he spent a lot of time answering student questions or comments, which most of the time were idiotic.
