Comment:

She grades very hard. In fact I received a f for making lots of grammar mistake. She literally grades your paper mostly on its grammar and less on the contents. She'll refuse to grade your essay if it's not stapled or put in folder. Gives you a zero if your paper isn't double spaced. She tends to get off topic ALOT, usually politics.

I don't know how people had a hard time with Professor Tainow, I do agree with she is a tough grader, other than that she is a funny person which has a lot of wisdom and knowledge to pass down she definitely is a good professor with a lot to teach you. Just make sure you know how to write essays and use grammar correctly.

First i thought she will be a good professor but later on she keeps failing me because i don't participate which is not true i do but she barely remember things. On the 2nd day of class she told me to drop this course just because i didn't write properly about pizza toppings. now the only Question to her is how can she Judge a book by its cover.

Shes tough, but means well. She is not wrong when she says you will do poorly in college if you cannot manage a 3 page paper. The most honest advice I can give - do NOT take her if you stink at writing, she will rip you to shreds. If you are a GOOD writer and historically have done well in English courses, shes not too bad at all.

Just learn coordinating conjunctions, and you should be OK. She will rip your grammar to SHREDS. I thought I was quite the writer and she humbled me fast. She is very opinionated and will spend half the class discussing politics. She alternates between caring and nice, to harsh and borderline rude. Shes not great, but I've had worse...

From my own experience, suggestion for you guys never ever take her class. Specially if you are not born here and you have a little bit difficulty in english you are gonna fail because she will never teach you what you need . You have to do everything by yourself or you can take help from tutoring center but you will not get any help fro her.

Only one advice from my own experience, please do not take her as your professor for eng 1121, especially if you are not a native speaker or good in writing. If your friend suggest taking this professor, then I believe his not your true friend. Also if you are stupid enough to choose her then try to participate a lot or else your dead.

Proffesor Tainow is a good professor, and she is there when you have a question. However, she is a very tougth grader and expect you to do your own work, and my advice take her class during a regular such as Spring or Fall. I took her class during the summer, and it was really hard.

This professor is terrible. Despite the bad review, I still took the class. Mistake. She waddles into class and always has the meanest look on her face. After completing the final, she told one of my classmates to "Go to Hell" after he said "Have a good day" to her. I do not understand why she is still "teaching", or whatever the hell you call it.

I disagree with some of the other students on this professor. I enjoyed the discussions we had in class even if they were sometimes off topic. She is not such a harsh grader, you just need to know how to write. I am an average writer and got an A in her class. She is extremely helpful if you participate in her class and reach out to her.

WARNING! Avoid this professor at all cost will drop your GPA incredibly. She tends to lose essays and work that is given to her on time and has bad memory so she forgets you even ever gave it to her. Does not teach the course in anyway, only talks about random subjects which does not involve learning. Harsh grader, even though she doesn't teach.

I loved her. She kept the class very interesting. Although she was lazy if you asked her for help she was ready to give it. I got a b and worked hard for that she grades very harshly. She does loose papers so make sure you have it saved. She uses the text book every class so you need it, it's on eBay about $3.00 so it's not that big of a deal. Participate, do the papers, and have a book and you'll do great !!!

She is alright, but whoever is taking her please, once again please, be ready to give in all the essays she appoints. If by any chance you miss, you can make it up but make sure you give it in. Word of Advice, PLEASE check your essay with the tutoring department. It really helps and she is picky when it comes to essays.Good Luck!
