DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Dr. Weik is aweful at teaching and I do not believe he can improve. He only teaches from PowerPoints, which are poorly formatted and sometimes unreadable. I felt like he was throwing data at us without context. He is dull, argumentative, a tough grader, never at his office hours, and answers questions with a non-answer.

This is the only 100 level class I've taken where it's practically impossible to get an A. This man's lecture's could not be more boring and honestly the information he teaches is rather random and unimportant. He gives little to no guidance and asking questions is pointless. Points are taken off for every class you miss. Only graded by 4 things.

He's a nice guy, but he's not a decent professor. Throughout the semester, we have had four assignments; one assignment took a month to be returned to us. If you don't go to class, you're not going to get a decent grade, but if you do, you still might not get a decent grade. The final exam is based on pure memorization of random, useless knowledge.

He can't answer any questions about his field. His lectures are garish, seizure-worthy monstrosities. His notes and exams are eclectic messes of random, impossible-to-study gibberish, and the classes are repetitive, unprofessional garbage. The fact that this man has a degree is an insult to my education, and to anthropology itself. Do not take.

DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS! Forget every other review and listen. He has four grades for this class so if you fail one you're done. Hes passionate about the field, but hes not the best at teaching. Relies heavily on lecture slides he doesn't post up after class, and he moves them through them quick. Hes very cryptic about material on exams, no real help

Dr. Weik was a great professor. He took attendance just about everyday, so show up to class. We were only graded by one quiz, a presentation&paper, an article review, participation, and the final. There is a lot of reading, however if you don't read you should be able to get the just of it from his powerpoints. He doesn't post lectures online!

Dr. Weik is great although he offers very little assignments so it is important you do well. Make sure to take notes in class to do your best and the assignments are quick and easy to understand.

Dr. Weik is a great professor. He focuses heavily on in class readings that are available on line. Hes really flexible with deadlines and there is only 3-4 assignments and they are worth a lot of points.

Weik was okay, most classes were just him reading from a power point or watching a video. The course itself is really interesting and the zoo project was cool, but there aren't many grades so everything is weighted heavily. Take notes and do the readings on blackboard (no textbook) and you'll do fine

Take if you're good at studying lectures only. There was only one exam, one quiz, one final exam, and a project for grades. He gave a couple extra credits but it didn't help much. If you do take him, make sure you do the readings, and don't wait until the last minute to read them all.

Most everything for this class is up front and the lectures can sometimes be really interesting if your into Anthropology. I personally didn't use the book at all but I would have probably gotten an A if I had.

Dr. Weik is a great guy. He's extremely passionate about his field and knows all about it. Always happy and constantly makes corny dad jokes. You can totally skip a few classes and still get an A. All you gotta do is review the notes for an hour or so before each test. Really easy. He wears really cool shirts too.

I took Historical Archaeology with Weik. Don't take this class unless you are super into African archaeology & 50 page readings. And you have lab work even though it's not a lab. Lectures are vague. The study guide for the mid term is literally a slide that just says "Read everything." And the final project has nothing to do with lecture.

When you ask for help or clarification, he is excellent. He will help you to understand the subject and get a good grade. Since the course is a basic one, it covers a broad territory. He and the text also are loaded with knowledge and wisdom on a wide spectrum. He is very knowledgeable on the nuts and bolts and the social aspects of anthropology.

He was very confusing. All we did was watch movies and read article that had NOTHING to do with the class. He is very unclear is some of his instructions but wants students to do the complete opposite. No tests, just several assignments 2 papers, 2 presentations and a 10 pg paper. Ive learned NOTHING in the class! a waste of money and time!!!

Often, test questions won't have anything to do with the lectures. Best thing to do is to memorize your notes and the book. He seems to think he's being clever, but it's really more annoying than anything else.

I am a anthro major and I even found this class boring and a waste of time. He is a cool professor and everything but he needs to take a few classes on how to teach, because he isn't that great at it. I felt like he just talked about the same 3 topics all semester. Waste of time if you ask me...
