Comment:
I typically have a really hard time with philosophy typically but Dr. Di Maria was a lot of fun. He was super personable (ask about the model story) and he was willing to answer every question without sounding condescending. He is also really willing to help with the reflection and papers in office hours.

Di Maria is probably the best teacher I have ever had. While he is super intelligent and the class is very densely packed with mind-blowing ways of thinking about the world, he manages to keep everyone on board by answering all questions as they come up and breaking up the lecture with hilarious stories. And he has a great laugh!

Comment:
Quizes were worded in a confusing manner, assigned readings were incredibly confusing and took a lot of time. That said, the lectures are always great and entertaining. DiMaria does a great job leading discussion and is great at presenting ideas.

I loved Prof. DiMaria's class, while I would get a little bored during lectures, he would always write the important stuff that would be on tests on the board. Unless you plan on reading all the texts word for word don't buy the books. It's easier to read it online, or print what you need.

This was a great class and Dr. DiMaria is a geniunely nice guy who respects everyone's opinions and gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to discussion. Little homework and 3 tests. He likes to tell stories too - ask him about his Cindy Crawford story!

This guy is great! He's super enthusiastic about Existentialism, and he has great stories! You need to come to class if you don't want to get lost, and seriously study for his tests. 2 tests and 2 papers for your grade. I would take him again.

My favorite phil prof to date. He isn't scared to share his life stories with you, so you get to know him as a person. He is very funny. He always lets you know what will be on the quiz/test/paper. He is in no way condescending or intimidating. Ask him questions, he loves phil, and I like it a little more having taken his class.

Solid Teacher. The material was pretty dry and the conversation was same old tired arguments but that goes with the territory. Easy to get good grades and doesn't make anyone feel bad about voicing their opinion. Funny and has some interesting anecdotes such as his Cindy Crawford story. A great choice to fulfill a core class.

DiMaria is a really nice guy, and he can be really awkward/hilarious at times. However, his class discussions lack structure which makes it hard to figure out what exactly you're supposed to take from the discussion. 1 pg papers every week or so, 3 essay exams.

Funny and interesting prof. As far as relating to students and bringing in real-life examples for concepts, he's excellent. He also isn't decrepit. Take him if you can.

DiMaria is an awesome guy. I had him in Italy over the summer and it was such a fun class. He has awesome stories. Ask about the Cindy Crawford story. It's a good one. He gave us a sheet before our 3 tests with 5 essays and we would have 4 on the test but only had to do 3. I am still friends with ole Ted now b/c of his class.

Was an existentialism class so really hard material I wasn't interested in but he got it across really well. Hilarious guy who manages to be funny but stay on track. Probably my least favorite subject but one of my favorite teachers! Highly recommend him!
