Dr Whitley is an awesome professor! He is very compassionate. He has so many different stories to tell based on his work in the Psychology field throughout the years. He does take attendance, but I feel it is mandatory. It is easy to fall behind. I was worried about taking stats, but he teaches at to a level of being able to understand.

Best professor I've had during all 3 years. He is super friendly and helpful and gives extra credit for everything. Never makes you feel dumb if you don't understand. However, attendance is mandatory because it's very easy to fall behind.

I loved Mr. Whitley!! He was super helpful and allows you to makeup missed assignments. Class is rather boring just because of the subject but not hard at all. I left the class with an A and am taking him in the spring for research methods!!

Whitley is a nice guy but his class is kind of ridiculous. He grades your papers very unfairly in my opinion and his standards are way too high for a level 2000 class. Tests are far too difficult. Do yourself a favor and take someone else.

I had him for research methods. When I got in the class I thought I was going to fail. But Dr. Whitley is super helpful and clear so don't be afraid to ask! Class itself can be boring and difficult but with his help I came out with an A. I would definitely recommend him.

If you're a psych major you'll take this class, so do yourself a favor--take it with Dr. Whitley. He is one of the best professors I've had at ECU. His guidelines are clear, & he is so helpful. My friend took the class online & struggled all semester; I took Whitley's class, learned a ton, & got an easy A. *Use his study guides and pwpts for tests*

He is very nice and helpful. At the beginning of the semester I kept missing alot of classes, in which I missed a lot of work. He pulled me aside and asked me how I would make up the work; he let me come to his office hours over the next weeks to make it up. This is different because alot of professors don't care. Also quick with giving grades

Very nice man and this class is passable if you attend it, take notes and study for your exams. Other than that, there is no homework or quizzes and buying the text book as well as attending class is not mandatory.

Dr. Whitley is a complete sweetheart. I was very nervous that this was going to be a difficult class but he makes it so easy. Students in other sections had a lot of homework but Dr. Whitley never gave any. There's extra credit opportunities on every assignment.

Great Teacher! The only drawback to this class is there are only 3 tests! They are not as easy as you think even though they are m/c & bonus questions also gives you the chance to earn extra points. U must understand the concepts & be able to apply them!U do need the bk! Dr Whitley is so approachable & is willing to wrk w/u. I got a "B." Great class

This is an easy A as long as you attend class and take notes. He tells you exactly what is on the test and gives away a ton of extra credit. Don't bother buying the book because the material covered is directly off of the PowerPoint. He is a bit monotone, but is super nice! I would suggest him any day!

Great teacher! The class is extremely easy if you just attend class and take notes. You can use your notes on all quizzes and assignments. Plus he curves everything. Easy A if you put in just a little bit of effort. Wish he taught every psychology course !

If you need to know stats, take his course. You should come to class to pass this course. He takes great effort to make sure everyone in the class has grasped the concepts. Again, if you need stats for grad school, take his course. One hint. Stats is not like a math course. You will need to treat this like a science course, study and take notes.
