I would never take another class with her if I didnt have to but she teaches many upper division classes and it is hard to avoid her. If you dont understand the way she teaches the material she gets upset with you and doesnt reexplain it. There is a digital media project that makes no sense and she does a very poor job explaining what she wants

Absolutely LOVE her, but this class was a PAIN. It was something that really needed to be thought out. Pay attention to detail. STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY. The lectures don't really connect with what you learn but attendance is mandatory and sometimes missing class will make you miss out on 5 or 10 points if the class is doing an activity.

Dr. Russo is an okay professor but her tests and quizzes only loosly based on what you learn. She doesn't give credit back on questions that many people miss. She gives study guides and does in class participation activities.

FAMS362 was a terrible class. Dr. Russo's teaching was unclear and not helpful whatsoever, which was surprising because she was incredibly enthusiastic in CHLD170. The textbooks were dry and boring, and the final project was a nightmare to complete. It's hard- but it IS possible to get a good grade. Good luck!

Lectures are long, and dry. Notes posted are not helpful. Not very caring/helpful if you go to office hours or email. Just seems like she doesn't want to teach. Test have topics not discussed in class. Good luck.

FAMS 362 is the class that made me want to drop my CFS major. Russo is a great teacher, for other classes. She is unclear and sometimes rude when answering questions in class about the program.

Hard tests (only midterm & final). 6 quizzes, you should read the book for. Lectures are boring, but helpful. Does a couple in class assignments, so go to class. Have to wear either prego belly (35lbs) for 3 hours or a mechanical baby overnight and write an essay on it. Have to do video at end of semester. Not too hard of a grader for assignments.

Gives pretty hard tests. She is an easy grader for essays and assignments though. She does give 6 quizzes throughout the semester, and you should read, but you can get away with it with a lower grade if you don't. You have the lab once a week. Big thing with her: she doesn't respect students.

She sometimes gets off topic and I don't always feel like I've learned a ton. But she's adorable and a really cool person, even if the class material and the tests don't always match up.

Unfair about grading and assignments. Going to the class is pointless because she wont talk about the topic, but if you dont go and read online she will take FIVE POINTS PER CLASS off your grade for missing attendance. hard tests and useless for help

I take two classes with Professor Russo and they are both very interesting. However, if she decides she does not like you, you're screwed. She answers questions in a way that makes the asker feel stupid, and does not announce due dates AT ALL. I hope I do not have to take ay more classes with her.

Extremely boring, she talks on and on about one slide, and doesn't even finish covering the material. She chooses favorites, I know people will be like "No she doesn't you just don't like her or whatever" but she definitely does Why else would she completely ignore my questions and answer other people's She looks right at me then she skips me

In the beginning I liked her and the material a lot, it's for my major. But she was unclear with deadlines, was an unfair grader, and only talked about herself and her children...Not too happy with how I did in that class and I'm not looking forward to taking more classes with her.

I went into this class with a great outlook due to the positive comments everyone else had left. Turns out i only got a C+ in the class and it is in my assigned major. I thought she was incredible boring and her assignment dates were always changing and unclear. I am not looking forward to having to take more classes with her.

Overall, good professor! She is always willing to help and is honestly a really great person outside of class as well. Pay attention, take notes, and read the book. Tests are difficult, but its a 300 level class so she expects a lot out of you (which is obvious since it's a tough course). I liked going to class although material was kinda boring.

I can't say enough nice things about her. She really knows what she is teaching and you can't help but be interested. The things being taught are very helpful to anyone working with children. Her class was the only one I looked forward to at Oneonta. Not only is she a great teacher but a wonderful person, she's helped me through some bad situations

Dr. R is an amazing teacher and a really funny person. She actually teaches you about kids and their stages. One of the most interesting and useful classes I have ever taken. Go to her office hours and get to know her and she'll be a really great support. This was the best class and professor I ever had!
