He is super knowledgeable on the subject matter and structures his lectures clearly. Most of the material you'll be tested on is from the lectures and he gives out a lot of information, usually without a visual aid so you have to decide whats important or else your notes will be a mess. Pretty funny and understanding, takes attendance every class.

He's very interesting to listen to, cracks jokes & relates content to students' lives. However, all course content comes from lectures, & he takes attendance, so going to class is a must. He doesn't believe in causing students stress, so no final, & work is minimal. However, his expectations for those assignments are unclear, and is hard to please.

Excellent professor as far as lecturing goes. His points are concise and well planned. His own views however, creep into his lectures and to him the only critical way of inquiry are the feminist or cultural Marxist perspectives. All else is hegemonic "hoo-hah" or drivel. If you're as left as he is, you'll get along. If you're right of center, nope.

I was considering a PoliSci major when I came to university, and Workman confirmed it. He gives extremely interesting lectures, although sometimes wanders off on a tangent. He cracks jokes and offers new perspectives to make you think. Workman also doesn't believe in causing students stress, so his 'quizzes' are few and far between with no final.

I took one of Prof. Workman's classes in '06. He's a great lecturer & is very knowledgeable. I only took one of his courses because he browbeats you if you express disagreement & dislikes critical inquiry. By contrast, Prof. Bedford welcomes questions even if he disagrees with you. I'm a teacher now, and I try to be like Prof. Bedford in that way

I learned a lot from Prof. Workman. He is quite knowledgeable in his area of studies and it really shows. His lectures are interesting and his politics do help clear a lot up about the world. If you do the readings and attend the lectures and put in a good amount of effort you will learn and do well. I will definitely take more classes from him.

Even if attendance wasn't mandatory I wouldn't miss his classes because he is gives interesting lectures. His politics are really left and they did slip in to the course much, but it is almost impossible to avoid bias when talking about politics. Some lectures seemed a bit tangential, but were still really interesting. Overall good experience.

Workman is an excellent professor. He makes himself available if a student needs to meet with him without any hesitation. To the previous comment about not giving sources, would you like a portion of the class dedicated towards the sources for every point? Like you would look them up any way. Next, Workman pushes students to go beyond their limit.

Comment:
Very left-wing. Start of the year he said his opinion would stay out of the class. Far from the truth. He uses his class time to whine about his political views. Feminism, Gender issues etc. Presents very one sided arguments, no sources just "academics said so". He will throw a child tantrum if you challenge him, so you better have a solid case

Prof Workman is the most interesting professor I have seen at UNB. It is clear that he doesn't like what is going in the world and challenges students to think and consider the roots of these problems. He is clear in his expectations and if you study for the tests you will ace them. Best class so far!

Good, easy professor, knows his stuff. Politics are pretty left, but it is good because it really gets you thinking and opens up your eyes.

I had a great time with this teacher. as long as you actually study the material for tests you will ace them. And if you put the time into writing essays you well do even better. Professor is a clear lecturer and us more than approachable with any questions.

He is rude. I got an A in the course but I regret the course whole heartedly. His questions are often unclear, and he misdirects you with midterms (he makes you think you are well set up when you are not). He is unclear when you ask for help as well. I will make a point of never taking a class with him again. However, his lectures are interesting.

Professor Workman teaches political SCIENCE, citing historical examples and he's great at demonstrating the course material using context. If you're left wing, you like him because he makes you thinkg. If you're right wing, you hate him because he makes you think. If you don't like thinking, you don't belong in university. Get over yourselves.

Most interesting class I have taken thus far. He is not as much of a one way street as the previous comments would make you beleive. He is opinionated but highly educated and experienced. I would definitely recommend his Pivotal Political Events course.

His class is fun to attend Pols is not about the students opinion and he makes it known which is hard to handle He answers questions but leaves more questions He isn't there to answer why the world is messed up or how to fix it He just to give you the tools to interpret Ask questions he'll answer them polity other than that listen to the lecture.
