Worst professor I ever had in my entire life. You will know what I mean if you take it. When there's rain and snow, I know class is canceled. The only thing I learned in this class is the existence of this subject. All he do at class is to make you sleepy.

Professor Avery is a great professor. You get about 7 "pop" quizzes, but he usually hints to you the class before that you'll have a quiz. The readings aren't so bad. Try to participate so he knows your name. He's actually really funny. Midterm and final are open notebook and textbook and he's SUPER clear with what he wants

Dr. Avery is a very lovely and funny professor. This class is straight forward, do the reading, the quizes are super easy, open book midterm and final. You literally have to try in order to fail. He makes the class fun with interesting topics. He usually tell you ahead of time for the pop quizes, I would def. take him again.

Midterm and Final are open book and based on stuff covered beforehand. HIs quizzes, although pop quizzes, are literally readings previously assigned, and you have to choose the right word that completes the sentence. Easy if you read. And he drops the lowest two grades. Take him for a fun and easy Philosophy course .

Summer class 5 "fill-in" quizzes (13 quotes straight from the books), readings everyday, midterm and final are open book (But I suggest you gather your thoughts together beforehand). With the midterm and final, grammar and punctuation matters a lot; try to correlate different ethical ideas together. Funny guy and interesting moral debates.

Pop quizzes directly from the book but his midterm and final are graded weirdly, there's no real criteria and just hands you a grade without telling you where you went wrong

Nice guy. 7 pop quizzes on readings, drops 2 lowest. Kind of boring material but just do it. Midterm & final are open book essays. Gives you format of essay. overall easy teacher. gives extra credit to kids who spoke in class. helps to sit in the front. let him remember your face.

He takes attendance, 7 pop "fill in the blank" quizzes and 2 very easy open book midterm and final. Most of the readings are short, easy and interesting. Bring a laptop to class to distract yourself time to time

class is boring, but it's a free A if you do the reading. 7 quizzes, he drops 2. Make sure you do reading, quizzes are sentences pulled out from reading. Midterm/Final is a joke. Overall worth taking

Class can be boring but what do you expect its philosophy. Midterm and final are easy essays. However there are 7 annoying pop quizzes that count for 50% of your grade based on the boring reading. Nice and funny guy though!

HINT- usually at the end of a chapter. 1 midterm 1 test- not hard just essay- gives you the format just use it. try to participate otherwise he will call on you. takes attendance every class. will put you to sleep. average prof!

No written assignments, just weekly reading from 2 books, interesting readings, couple quizes, drops the 2 lowest grades, open book midterm and final, really nice and funny. Can miss a couple classes and still know whats going on. Take him if you want that one easy class in all your crappy classes! Very funny!

Not gonna dress this up: Philosophy is boring. But Avery is a hilarious teacher who actually makes it easy-ish to learn, and he spends lots of time helping people understand what he teaches. He takes attendence but it doesn't affect your grade - but missing more than 2 of his unannounced pop quizzes will, so go to class. Awesome teacher.

Avery's cool and all, but his class is just SOOO boring. He can make minutes seem like hours, and hours seem like days. You'll forget what year it is after each class. He assigns readings for every class and those readings are of mild interest. Quizzes are fair, you definitely need to read. Essay exams were most important, and pretty easy.

One of the best professors at this University. Prof. Avery is very similar to mr. Count Dooku. He knows how to connect with his students using not only the force but by using mind tricks. He is very wise and don't even think about not paying attention or he will use his mind to make you vanish into thin air. May the force be with you.I recommend him
