Overall great professor I enjoyed going to his class and labs, hes more than happy to help you if you have any questions and enjoys working with his students. That being said he will not just hand out a good grade you have to earn it. If you show up prepared and study you should do fine.

Great professor overall and very professional demeanor. Gets all work back in reasonable time and tells you what he expects up front. His tests aren't easy, but fair. Go to class and put in study time and you will do well. Very helpful and willing to help students. Very interested in his work, and is a competent teacher.

Professor was extremely nice and interesting person. Very easy to go and talk with. Class material was very interesting, and only slightly difficult. Must have some interest in science to complete course. Several labs are held outdoors which made them a lot of fun. Highly recommend this teacher.

Benzing is a really nice guy, and makes the material pretty interesting, but I have to admit, when it comes to the tests and homework, this class is miserable. Homework is right/wrong and on material we haven't learned, tests are overly difficult and receive no curves. Benzing may be awesome, but take a different teacher if you want a good grade.

Generally a nice guy,no attendance,class is based off of powerpoints that is available off BB.Some labs were quite entertaining,but full lab reports suck.This class was easy for me b/c I've taken biology and chem in high school.But for people who haven't I'll admit the HW was hard and he explains after you turn it in.Tests required studying too.

Dr. Benzing is my favorite professor at JMU. He is extremely intelligent and is a really nice guy always willing to help out his students. I recommend taking a class with him if you have the chance.

This class is HARD. the homework is made up of problems that he never even discusses in class..he might go over it after you turn it in, though. the tests are sooooo difficult. He's a boring speaker, but he tries.
