I had to defer an exam in his class and he was so great about it; such a nice guy. He has interesting lectures but the readings are sometimes boring. He offers to look over your term papers as late as the day before you hand it in too. He marks pretty tough but it's not unreasonable if you do your research.

Comment:

Fantastic Professor. He will mark you hard and he does expect a lot on the paper but he will help you out if you ask him for help. The material is interesting and he relates it well with personal stories. Definitely take a class with him, just don't treat it as a "bird course."

Wonderful professor! He is a hard marker, however he does invite students to take their papers to him and proof read and give suggestions...so I think that's a fair trade off. Lectures are interesting, not absolutely mandatory to come to class but it is beneficial if you do. Can't wait to take another class from him! :)

He can make the complex thing to be easily understand by giving you many vivid example. He is very knowlegable and really engage in teaching his students.He is extremely helpful. I am very lucky to have this prof. He make the boring history lifely and he really enlighten me to study not only history.

Loved this class! Being able to share the passion for the cities, as well as learning about them from a totally different place than traditional classes (the textbook) was awesome. He was on, 24/7, and obviously loves what he does, or he wouldn't take students abroad and teach them so passionately in the classroom for other classes.

He was a really cute man who had a lot of interesting stories to tell and a fun little giggle BUT he is the hardest marker ever!I am an 80% or higher student who excels at essay writing and he totally ripped my work apart. Good prof if you LOVE history,stay away if you're taking a class for interest purposes.p.s.YOUR OPINION DOESN'T MATTER WITH HIM

I just got back my first paper from this proff. Granted I'm not the best @ papers-tests I can do fine at-papers not so much. I still haven't ever failed anything! Point being... I failed. Can't believe it. He's seems like a really nice guy, he really gets into it when he's teaching, but HARDEST MARKER EVER! does not feel badly about giving a fail

I am a full-time, third-year student who is attending the U of R on academic scholarship. If you are a strong student, then I recommend you do not take a class from him. In my case, his marking has seriously damaged my future in academics. If you are used to high 80s and 90s, do not consider a class with this prof.

He was a hard marker, it was my worst mark ever in a history class. However, I loved his stories about Germany...like how he sold his jeans on the black market...generally a cool guy but don't take his class if you care about your marks because he's tough!

I did OK in his class, but I will not take any more classes from him. Bredohl is extremely well versed on European history, but it is difficult to keep up with his droning, he is arrogant, intimidating, not friendly, and your opinion does not matter. There is also no methodology to his marking.

Interesting class and interesting prof. Unlike most hist profs, this guy has a sense of humour. Recommended if you are going to take a hist class. Oh, and make sure you don't take a class right after his or you will never be on time!
