He is a great professor, really makes you feel that maybe this university thing isn't so hard, I took this course as a second year student and I found it wonderful. I loved his class and I had it wed and fri 8am, I missed a total of 3 classes and 1 tutorial, it was a great class and it got me thinking no matter what time of day it was.

...may not be the youngest professor but he definitely bears an open mind towards helping his students achieve their goals (provided you have a good reason) although I'm not a big philosophical person, he definitely got my mind into the course. YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS THOUGH... OVERALL, HE HANDLES THE COURSE NICELY.

One of the better profs at Brock. It's definitely not a bird course as it is more content-based. Go to class, go to seminars and you'd do fine. He definitely knows his stuff and tries to do his best to connect with students. Yes, we have to go through readings but he makes it easier by highlighting the main points. Good prof :)

His class is in my top 5 of the WORST courses I've had to take. Compete waste of time. It's not an ethics class. It's more of a philosophy-based course than anything else. You sit through his classes, while he underlines tons and tons of readings on his overheads (which are also in the textbook). He's also really cocky (like most professors).

I had to take GBLS after another course was cancelled- but I'm glad I did. I thought it would be weird, but the readings were all soo relevant and well chosen. I've gone on to read recreationally some of the items we touched on in class. Hated the quizzes though!

He did a great job selecting course material. Seminars are slightly forced due the prepared list of questions; but, he is very willing to discuss and entertain all points of view. Find a way to ignore the introductory portions of his lectures; the irate and belittling persona he assumes until he relaxes isn't a fair reflection of him.

Interesting man...seems a bit arrogant but he knows his stuff. The course is crap though. Who ever thought of a philosophy/ethics course where you don't have to be ethical, or don't have to think? Waste of time. At least he's a decent lecturer.

Stinks!!! Does not understand how students learn...he is old and makes dots around his overheads before using them. He connects the dots!!! Too bad he can't demonstrate that to his students. Overall, the teacher was a waste and I felt I learned nothing in his class.

I've had two courses with him. Logic, GBLS 1P91, was extremely difficult but Mulligan was very helpful. In Great Books World Tour, he encouraged ideas contrary to his own and showed a flexibility in his thinking uncommon among our faculty.
