I had Dr. Petitjean 10 years ago, and I'm just now graduating. I remember one day staying after class talking to him about the A&P by John Updike. We talked for thirty minutes because I could not grasp that the story was more than just a kid who lusted after these three girls. It was a turning point in a way of understanding literature. RIP and TY

I earned an A without even taking the final, but I am a strong writer to begin with. Unfortunately, I heard he passed away last year.

Taught only what needed to be taught. No busywork. Sometimes not enough feedback unless you track him down at his house were he is hanging out with all his A students. Cared about helping students who cared to improve but if on his bad side there was no redeption. A brilliant man who tries to work the system to everyones benefit. Sad to see him go.

Best teacher I have ever had. He made me love english as well as writing. He does grade your work. And by the way I am a girl and we get along great. It is a priviledge to be taught by this well educated man. Northwestern is not worthy of such an instructor.
