Horrible prof, like others said he read directly from the slides. He was very rude via email when asked for help not only with me but other students. Test are cool if you study, the presentation project is a COMPLETE waste of time, and it's only worth 10 points. I hated everything about this class. So I could be biased.

I don't like this class at all. It is so boring. He does nothing but reads off of the slides which he also puts online. Then he makes attendance mandatory because let's be honest no one probably would go if it isn't. The exams aren't that hard and you are required a presentation. I don't think I learned anything in this class.

Terrible class. Very unorganized and extremely tough grader. Doesn't post grades to Carmen. He does news quizzes every week but doesn't tell you which news sources to look at. Had to drop this class. Take this class with a different professor.

I had him for Media Ethics; a great course and one that pushed the boundaries of how we think/react with media. That is all thanks to Professor Schwartz. Some may find him difficult or dull, but he knows his stuff, has been around, and is more than fair. Just do not be predictable and hackneyed in class comments and papers and you'll be JUST FIIINE

Phenomenal instructor. Really knows what he's talking about. Critically engages with students, despite the course being heavily lecture based. You can tell he wants his students to do well. Take his class if you're genuinely interested in learning about Media Law but not if you want an easy A.

News Quizzes and Style Book quizzes are easy points. Does not lecture really. Just has students give mini presentations per chapter. A LOT of busy work. Very hard to understand exactly what he is looking for in papers. Fails to clarify about each assignment. Write everything clearly, exactly to the point. No fluff, no fun. Tests 50 T/F Hard

Very boring! but not too hard if you write exactly how he tells you to, which is very dry and stale. doesnt really seem very interresting in helping his students, only likes to tell them theyre wrong because they don't write word for word how he likes.

Not too bad. He has news quizzes from current events out of the news that will have you reading 3-4 newspapers a day, which is time consuming. If you want an A, go to class, talk, and write the way he wants you too. Even tho his writing method sucks and is boring, if you want an A go along with it. I did learn from him though.

Tough teacher but he grades fairly. He is concerned about how well you do in the class and out of it. You have to work hard, go to class, and participate, but you'll learn a lot.

Interesting guy. He can be pretty funny at times and I buy that he's interested in helping students. He's a little weird, but I suppose who isn't. Class on the other hand is a pain in the ass, way more work than they indicate before you take it. Most stressful class of my college career.
