Great teacher, I went to the actual lecture one time and passed with an A. As long as you attend the lab you are sure to pass. I used the app Socratic to pass each test. All the tests are online and he lets you take a week to do them.

Botany 200: Lecture hall starts with 200+ students and is about 20 at the end of the semester. Tests are online, including the final(also on quizlet). Labs are easy and a good way to keep your grade up. Get a study group together and save old exams because they are the same questions on the final.

Comment:

Dr. Vogal is a very funny guy. All his classes will always go the full 50 minutes but attendance is not required. I do advice you go though because the only grades are test and lab. His test are somewhat difficult because there online and he knows you'll work in groups and look up answers. Just email him if you need to meet very flexible.

Comment:

Great teacher! Tests are a bit difficult if you take them by yourself but not impossible, just go over your notes every day. A smart move would be to form a study group if you're aiming for an A in this class. Lab is a piece of cake so if you're struggling a bit in this class, the cumulative grade at the end of the semester shouldn't be too bad.

He is funny too. All his tests are online including his final. You have plenty of time to do them. The other professor gives hw and essays on tests, he doesn't

Lectures go the full 50 minutes, but he's very funny and he makes it interesting. All his exams are online and you can take them in groups. Limited office hours, so make sure the time you spend with him is productive. He's a very understanding professor and genuinely cares for the students.

Vogel is hilarious! He is very helpful and lets your class make your own final if its small enough. Very helpful and good at giving examples to farthur explain topics. Cares about you and how well you do!

Best professor I've had in college. He is respectful, helpful, and all around cares about you as a person and a student. You can skip if necessary but I always did better when I went to class. He makes it interesting and keeps things fun.

Professor Vogel is hilarious. He reminds me of the actor who plays the Twinkie lover in the movie zombieland. He is very passionate about what he teaches. Attendance to lectures is not mandatory but I suggest you go because he does this thing where he takes random attendance.

Vogel is a great professor. The lectures are long and attendance is not mandatory but you will want to go because he is funny. Also he does this thing were he gives random extra credit on random days so you are gonna want to be there. Lab attendance is mandatory.

Good 'Ole Thomas Vogel.... He is an outstanding professor. My major is Exercise Science and I was required to take the class. The first day, I knew that I would love the guy. Very helpful and clear in his lectures. He knows the material and he also teaches you life lessons. By far the best professor that I have had during my first semester!

He lectures for an hour. There are 6 test for the semester. I bought the slide book, which has all his slides in it and really helps on the tests - you can buy a used one with someone's notes to help. I barely used the other textbook.
