Amazing professor. The only reason some people do not enjoy his classes are simply because they do not attend or even attempt to give Dr. Nilsson a chance. He is very willing to help students and puts extreme efforts into answering questions. He is a tough marker, but if you attend class you will do great.

The worst course I ever took at UPEI. His lectures are brutal and his tests are even worse. You'll leave the test thinking that you failed and end up passing only because of the curve. Even if you do well in the course, you haven't learned a thing. Basically, his courses are pointless to take. You won't benefit at all form it.

I find his lectures boring. He talks about a lot of information that isn't in the text book. His tests are difficult and hard to study for. He doesn't speak that clearly and he almost always lets class out late. I don't hate the class but I find it very difficult to pay attention.

Thomy is an amazing prof, he is old school when it comes to lecturing and testing. His tests are tough but if you attend lectures and attempt to study you'll do fine. I took this course as an elective and it turned out to be my favourite course of the semester. He grades on a curve so it's extremely easy to get 90's.

Worst professor ever. He can't see or hear and he teaches a course on senses. The only reason people pass is because he curves the tests by 30%. He can't answer questions, and when he does he's extremely sassy. He's 70+ years old.... His tests are horrible... RETIRE

A few years back, Thomy was forced to retire, but he sued and was allowed to come back and teach. This should NOT have happened. He is too old to be an effective professor and it does a disservice to the student who pay money for education.

In response to the poster who noted that university courses should be "hard": I took intro stats from Dr. Nilsson a few years ago. Since then, I have taken advanced statistics at UPEI as well as graduate level statistics and research courses (for which I earned a graduate degree). I feel I can safely say that Dr. Nilsson contributed nothing to my u

Nice old prof., but appears a bit akward. This is off-putting to some students. Students may expect his courses to be easy and are shocked to learn how hard psych. can be. But, heck, it's university- it's supposed to be hard.

Something is very wrong when a a mark of 40% on a test becomes 80% when graded on a curve. He makes his tests way too difficult and the student learns nothing from doing the test. He wrote his own textbook and then thought he didn't have too teach because his textbook was so good. I was lost doing the tests and can't believe I managed an 84%.

He ruined psychology for me. He cannot teach. He also cannot see or hear (which is funny because he teaches the senses!) So if you ever want toask him a question, he will never see or hear you!

Really nice guy, but he doesn't hear or see very well, so class can be a little frustrating at time. His tests are hard, but he grades on a curve, so as long as you're not the worst in the entire class you'll do fine.

First class I thought he was a homeless man. He's nice, but he doesn't tend to make sense, he can't hear or see anything (ironically, he teaches senses). And the tests are hard but then he grades on a curve. I don't learn anything but I get good grades...

He's a nice old man, but seems a little TOO old to be teaching. The test was a little confusing, and definitely hard. I don't like the way the students all talk and he doesn't notice or do or say anything about it. You may not hear everything he says.
