Comment:
This teacher is by far one of the worst teachers I have ever experienced. Instead of teaching the material, he sits there waiting for the student to try and figure things out that they have never seen before and then gets upset when we dont figure it out. He gives one example of a a problem and puts it on the test. Also I think hes dyslexic.

Duman is BY FAR the worst teacher I have had. He gives no material to students for them to evaluate their knowledge outside of class and doesn't grade the in class quizzes and then expects students to do well on exams. Most of the exams averages were lower than 60% and it was not the students fault. He does a poor job relating to students.

Duman's lectures in this class do not consist of him necessarily teaching the material, rather him put a practice problem up and trying to solve it himself. He confuses the class in about 5 minutes

Dr. Duman is a really nice guy. He is ready to explain to you any material that you feel is confusing to you. He is grading assignments pretty fast. Be ready for quizzes every day. However, you can retake a quiz if you did bad on it. He grades you on few things. I would take him again for physics 2

Rarely gets stuff graded in time so you do not know what to requiz on. Very unorganized. The class would be 99% better without him if it were just online. That way we could actually get our papers back on time.

was Ok a teaching one on one but very bad at teaching in class. Also gets frustrated by any questions you ask that he thinks you should know.

He lectures the whole class every day, and gives a quiz every day at the start of class over what he will be teaching THAT DAY. The new "standards based grading" makes no sense and is completely subjective, get a different professor if this is a class for your major.

Tests students on knowledge and information that he will teach in class that day. He does not have an organized way of teaching and students can easily get lost. He expects prior physics knowledge even in a first year course.

Awful professor. This class is basically a whole new world of math for most students, and unfortunately you are forced to learn on your own. There isn't much of a point in going to class as you will learn most of the material from youtube and khan academy. Makes you submit homework every class, and watch his online lectures for grades.

Took this class thinking it would be interesting and informative, but ended up experiencing the hardest class I have taken my entire college career. Duman has unclear teaching methods and the tests are way too hard for a 100 level class. Would NOT recommend taking his classes.

He is a horrible professor. He doesnt teach the class. He expects you to already know the material well by the time you come into class. The tests are nearly impossible. He has given me the few D's I have ever gotten on a test. Do not take his class.

Big ego. He has no business teaching an entry level course with his teaching methods. Sure he knows physics well but he cant teach it well expects you to have a vast understanding of physics even though its a first yr course. Never grades any work so you never know where you stand

Doesn't relate topics, just puts formulas up on the board and expects students to be able to grasp where it came from and be able to finish problems without knowing what to do. Unhelpful with an arrogant attitude!

Doesnt teach well. Gives a lot of homework, quizzes, which he himself has not covered. Vermillion is much better.
