Hes a great professor. Public Admin is by far the most boring class but he does as good of a teaching job as can be done with it. Very easy to talk to and approach, always helps out when needed. Explains things very thorougly, overall great guy. Would take another course with him as long as its not as boring as this one

The content is boring as hell for the most part, but if it were anyone else teaching it, it would be even worse. His slides are kind of confusing but he explains everything thoroughly in class and in all honesty as long as you show up and pay attention you can leave the class with at least a 75%. Also a great guy.

I respect Mau because he's really just trying his best to teach a really boring and dry course to students who are obviously not interested. That must be tough. Definitely knows his stuff though. I just don't like his overhead slides; they're a bit messy and they're all in caps which is annoying. But other than that, he's a nice guy.

I have taken multiple courses with Dr. Mau, and this was my favourite. He is unbiased, clear, and very fair. He is always in his office, as well, and makes the time for you if you make the effort to seek it out. The course content is interesting and focuses on a lot of aspects of local government not detailed in typical POLS courses.

Really boring course! Midterm and exam are very fair, if you study the major points of every lecture you'll ace it! Lecture is tricky because it's a vague outline for a massive topic, definitely start way early and go to him with q's. Really nice guy doing his best with an awful course. My issue was with the course, not him!

Mau is a really generous guy. I had 3 essay's due in a week and he gave an extension because I didn't want to have to submit a rushed term paper. He's really understanding of what student's go through and is definitely not out of touch. Topic is pretty dull for the most part and it is hard to follow along with much of the political rhetoric though.

He's a great guy outside of class but is a bit boring during lectures. Given, the course itself (public admin) was quite boring, but needs to find a way to make it more interesting. Assignments/exams very fairly marked and not overly difficult. Approachable. Class discussions attempted but didn't work too well.

By far the best prof I have ever had. He doesn't force his opinions on you which many political science profs tend to do. He gives you the facts then allows you to decide what you think.

Comment:
Nobody goes to class because there's no exams and therefore no motivation to take notes. Course structure is odd and because of that, it is difficult to get interested in the weekly readings. However, the textbook selections are good. Boring overheads (prof. could be more comfortable).
