enjoyed his class so much, actually looked forward to going every day, it was like story time with prof anna... until i was in an accident an ended up having extensive surgery to repair my leg. missed 3 weeks of lectures. when i asked him for help, he pretty much said, tough luck... you should considered dropping.

He's an alright prof. Prof. Anna really loves Latin America (namely Mexico), to the point that he's biased towards them. He has terrible office hours (one hour a week). Exams are pretty straight-forward: standard IDs and then an essay or two. Essays are alright too, but you have to put the work in to get an A.

Good prof. Lectures are interesting, mostly focuses on politics and economy so don`t take it if you aren`t interested. Papers are straightforward, and tests are not difficult if you attend lectures and read the textbook.

Great Prof, knows his stuff very well and loves dicussing current events. When I first started the class I wasn't getting A's, but once you actually try, you can get A's. I would recommend this prof, but keep in mind you do have to put some effort into it. Midterms are easy and Essays are straightforward- a no nonsense prof.

I have never seen anyone make as many excuses for someone they weren't sleeping with as he does for Cortez. Horribly biased, believes the Spaniards were the "saviours" of the savages, and any other opinion is a "Black Legend". His information is thirty years out of date. Boring lectures. Doesn't read anyone's papers. Bad intro to LA. history

You can get an A by the way but I doubt an A+. I enjoyed the testing methods and attending class was quite interesting as well. All in all a good professor that actually expects you to read the books and know how to right a research paper.

This man is not interested in the papers that he makes you write, and even proclaims to the class that the department makes him do it. He doesn't even bother to mark them, or help you outside of the class. His exams are REALLY easy though, but what needs to be remembered is that even if the exams are easy, the papers will kill you. Try getting an A

Very hard marker. It seems like it takes him the first half of the class to actually get to the course work and doesn't believe in giving out A's or B's. Monotonous lectures, and not very willing to help you out of class. Even if you do EXACTLY what he says for papers, you won't break the "C" barrior. Bottom line? Talk to the Marker, not him.

good lectures. incorporates humor pretty often. nice guy, really lenient on topics for papers. marking on the other hand is pretty strict. you definately have to go above and beyong if you want anything higher than a C. all in all a pretty cool course.

Interesting, an expert in his field, but very very lefty and marks you harder if you disagree with his politics. If you share his convictions you'll love it and do well; if you don't you'll still learn a lot but won't get an A no matter what.

It's easy to get a B+ in his class but really hard to get above that. He is interesting in some ways when he goes a bit off topic. But other times it gets to be a drag. I didnt take the independant course that followed because i didnt want to write so many papers!!!
